The Blackview Xplore 6 is the brand’s most ambitious rugged phone of 2026: a Dimensity 9400+ chip, a 3.2K AMOLED display, a 12,000 mAh battery and a bundled teleconverter lens, for around €950 (about 623,000 FCFA). Announced at MWC in March and shown at IFA in September, it has been sold directly by Blackview since late September 2026. It is aimed at people who want a genuine flagship that can take a building site and a dirt track in its stride. No full review has been published yet: camera, battery life and software support all remain to be confirmed.
Introduction: the Blackview Xplore 6, a rugged phone with flagship ambitions
Until now, a reinforced phone meant a big battery, a thick shell and a mid-range chip. Blackview is playing in a different league this time. The Shenzhen brand presents its new model as the first rugged phone built around MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+. It adds the kind of hardware you normally find at Vivo or Oppo: a periscope telephoto lens and an optical attachment that clips on top of it.
The price follows suit. Journalists at IFA in Berlin noted a price close to €950 (about 623,000 FCFA), accessories included. That is far more than an Xplore 2, listed at €599.90 (about 394,000 FCFA) outside promotions on the brand’s French store. At this level, the Blackview Xplore 6 is no longer competing only with other rugged phones, but also with regular smartphones slipped into a good case.
Our newsroom has not handled the device. This page draws on Blackview’s own data, on the GSMArena, PhoneArena and Kimovil databases, and on the hands-on reports from Notebookcheck and China-Gadgets at IFA.
Verdict in brief: our view of the Blackview Xplore 6 before the reviews
Awaiting review — On paper, the Blackview Xplore 6 is the best-equipped rugged phone of the moment: a flagship chip, a 3.2K display, a periscope zoom and very fast charging. No full review has been published. Our newsroom has not tested it and is not giving it a score yet.
- Who it is for: field professionals, guides, technicians and seasoned travellers who want the power and the screen of a high-end phone in a body that shrugs off water, dust and drops.

What looks promising:
- Dimensity 9400+ and 18GB of RAM, a first on a rugged phone
- 3.2K AMOLED display at 120Hz, rated at 2,600 nits
- 12,000 mAh, 120W wired and 80W wireless charging
- 3x periscope telephoto lens and a bundled teleconverter
Still to be confirmed:
- Real-world photo quality, especially with the optical attachment

What to take away from the Blackview Xplore 6 specs
Three figures sum up the device. The first is the chip: the Dimensity 9400+ powered the flagships of 2025, whereas rival rugged phones make do with a mid-range processor. The second is the 120W charging, which is precious with a 12,000 mAh battery. The third is the weight: 428g, or roughly two ordinary smartphones.
Design of the Blackview Xplore 6: 428g and a second screen on the back
The Blackview Xplore 6 measures 179.5 x 85.4 x 18.2 mm. It is taller and wider than a Galaxy S26 Ultra, and more than twice as thick. Bumpers reinforce the corners.
With a body this size, one-handed use is out of the question. Blackview supplies a case with a kickstand, which is handy on a workbench or a dashboard. The fingerprint reader sits on the side.
A 1.47-inch rear screen, mounted diagonally
The back houses a small 1.47-inch AMOLED touchscreen (368 x 194 pixels), set at an angle next to the camera block. It shows the time and notifications, and acts as a mirror for taking a selfie with the main sensors. China-Gadgets, which handled it in Berlin, rates the image from this viewfinder as average.
Headphone jack, SIM and memory card
The 3.5 mm headphone jack appears to be missing: most spec sheets do not mention it, and only Kimovil lists one. The tray takes two nano-SIMs, or one SIM and a microSD card, and eSIM support has been announced.
Durability and certifications: IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD-810H
The Blackview Xplore 6 carries all three labels you expect on this type of product. IP68 covers dust and prolonged immersion. IP69K adds hot, high-pressure water jets, the kind that come out of a site pressure washer. The MIL-STD-810H military standard groups together tests for shock, vibration and extreme temperatures.
Blackview claims the phone survives 2-metre drops onto a hard surface, against 1.5 metres for the Oukitel WP500 Ultra. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, according to the brand and Notebookcheck.
Good to know — IP ratings are obtained on a brand-new device, in fresh water. Seawater, wet cement and laterite dust end up attacking the seals and the USB-C port. Rinse the phone with clean water after a dirty day and let the port dry before plugging it in.
Display: a 6.73-inch 3.2K AMOLED, a rarity on a rugged phone
The 6.73-inch AMOLED panel shows 3,200 x 1,440 pixels, or about 521 pixels per inch. Almost all of its rivals top out at Full HD+. The refresh rate reaches 120Hz, with an adaptive range of 1 to 120Hz according to Root-Nation. HDR10+ is supported.
A claimed brightness of 2,600 nits
Blackview claims a peak of 2,600 nits. The databases contradict each other: PhoneArena says 600 nits, Kimovil 3,000. With no independent measurement available, treat the manufacturer’s figure with caution. If it holds up, legibility under the midday sun will not be an issue, which matters on a building site or on a motorbike.
Performance: the Dimensity 9400+, a flagship chip inside a tank
The Dimensity 9400+ is built on a 3 nm process and pairs one Cortex-X925 core, three Cortex-X4 cores and four Cortex-A720 cores with an Immortalis-G925 graphics unit. The sales sheets for the Blackview Xplore 6 claim around 2.8 million points on AnTuTu; Kimovil puts it at 2.47 million. Either way, that is far above the Dimensity 8300 in the Oukitel WP500 Ultra.
The memory keeps pace: 18GB of LPDDR5X and 512GB or 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. That configuration explains part of the price, at a time of soaring memory prices. The brand adds virtual memory on top to advertise 72GB in total, a showroom figure with no real effect on how smooth the phone feels.
What is all that power for on a building site?
This chip adds nothing when it comes to making calls or reading a PDF plan. It makes sense for 50MP photo processing, 4K video, heavy mapping apps, editing on the spot or gaming. It also guarantees that the device will stay fast for several years.
Camera: the Blackview Xplore 6 bets on a periscope and a teleconverter
Photography is where the Blackview Xplore 6 stands out the most. It lines up three 50MP rear sensors and a 50MP front camera, when its rivals often pad out their camera block with pointless 2MP modules.

Three 50MP sensors
The main sensor is a 1/1.3-inch OmniVision OV50H with an f/1.7 aperture and optical stabilisation, a serious base already seen on high-end phones. The ultra-wide covers 118 degrees at f/2.2. The periscope telephoto, a 70 mm Samsung JN5 at f/2.4, offers a stabilised 3x optical zoom and focuses from 12 cm for macro shots, according to China-Gadgets. Video goes up to 4K at 60 frames per second, on the front as well as on the back.
The teleconverter: 10x optical, with reservations
The accessory attaches in front of the periscope and extends the focal length. The IFA communication talks about a 230 mm equivalent, which is a 10x optical zoom. Blackview’s own product page mentions 164 mm instead. The gap is not explained.
First impressions are mixed. Notebookcheck found the mount stable, but describes slow camera software and glitches in the way the image is flipped when switching zoom levels. China-Gadgets warns that quality collapses at maximum digital zoom. These remarks concern display units, whose software may not have been final.
Field features: what the Xplore 6 offers, and what it leaves to the Pro
This is the paradox of this model: it is the most expensive in the range, but not the best equipped for technical work. Here is what really belongs in the field:
- dual-frequency L1 + L5 GPS, which is more accurate in a forest or between buildings;
- stereo speakers rated at 2W, so that a call can be heard over the noise;
- 10W reverse charging, which gets a radio, a lamp or a second phone out of trouble;
- eSIM, which is practical for adding a local plan when travelling.
On the other hand, no infrared night-vision camera is mentioned, nor a camping light or a walkie-talkie function. Satellite messaging remains the business of the Xplore 2 Satellite.
Blackview Xplore 6 Pro: the thermal camera on top
The Blackview Xplore 6 Pro uses the same base and adds a 256 x 192 pixel thermal module. AI processing enlarges the image up to 1,440 x 1,080 pixels: that is software upscaling, not the true resolution of the sensor. It is the version to go for if you are an electrician, a refrigeration engineer or a mechanic. Its price had not been confirmed as of 3 October 2026.
Battery life and charging: 12,000 mAh, 120W wired and 80W wireless
The 12,000 mAh battery uses silicon-carbon chemistry, according to Root-Nation. The Xplore 2, for its part, packs 20,000 mAh into a bulkier body. The choice is clear: less in reserve, but a phone that remains portable.

How many days can you expect?
No independent measurement exists. The capacity is more than double that of a regular smartphone, but the chip and the 3.2K display draw more power. Two to three days of sustained use seem plausible for the Blackview Xplore 6. For anyone who lives with repeated power cuts, that is a weighty argument.
Flagship-grade charging
The 120W wired charging is exceptional in this category, where 33 to 66W is still the norm. The 80W wireless charging goes through the bundled dock; an ordinary Qi charger will be much slower. The list of accessories mentions a cable and that dock, but not explicitly a 120W power adapter: check this point before you order.
Software: DokeOS 5 on Android 16, with support that is still hazy
The Blackview Xplore 6 runs DokeOS 5, the in-house skin, based on Android 16. Google’s Gemini assistant is built in, alongside the Doke AI tools. Google services are on board, so the Play Store and mobile money apps are too.
Three years of updates, with no schedule
Notebookcheck and China-Gadgets report three years of Android updates. The German site Smartzone adds a caveat: Blackview is not committing to any schedule for DokeOS. Until the brand publishes a written commitment, it is better to see this as an intention.
At €950, this is the weakest point of the whole package. Samsung and Google promise seven years of support on phones sold at the same price.
Blackview Xplore 6 price and availability: France, Europe, Africa
The Blackview Xplore 6 has been sold on Blackview’s official store since late September 2026. The prices recorded vary depending on the source and the promo code:
- around €950 (about 623,000 FCFA) for the 18 + 512GB version, the price quoted by Notebookcheck and China-Gadgets at IFA;
- €1,199.99 (about 787,000 FCFA) as the list price noted by Smartzone, brought down to €959.99 (about 630,000 FCFA) with the pre-order code;
- €920 (about 603,000 FCFA) with a code shared in late September by a French deals site.
The price includes the teleconverter, the case, the charging dock and wireless earbuds. Once the codes have expired, expect to pay more than €1,000.
France and Europe: not yet at the big retailers
As of 3 October 2026, we found no listing for the Blackview Xplore 6 at Amazon.fr, Fnac, Darty or Cdiscount. The brand’s French store does not list it either. Buying one therefore means going through the international store. Before you pay, check the shipping warehouse, any extra fees and the return conditions.
West and Central Africa: a real audience, but an import purchase
Reinforced phones have a natural audience in West and Central Africa: site managers, telecoms technicians, field agents, hauliers and motorbike-taxi riders. Dust, rain and drops wreck a regular smartphone there in a matter of months. Blackview is strengthening its presence on the continent: the brand opened its first official store in Ghana, in Accra, in July 2026, and supplies phones there to drivers on the Yango platform.
For Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire or Senegal, we found neither an official distributor nor a local price. The device will have to be imported, with shipping and customs duties added. The warranty then means sending it back abroad, at your own expense. On a purchase of more than €900 (over 600,000 FCFA), that risk counts.
On the network side, the Blackview Xplore 6 supports 4G bands 1, 3, 7, 8, 20 and 28, which cover most of the region’s operators, as well as the n78 5G band. Confirm your operator’s frequencies before buying all the same.
Which Blackview rugged phone should you choose on a tighter budget?
For strictly utilitarian use, the brand has cheaper options. The Xplore 1 and the Xplore 2 can be found at around €400 (about 262,000 FCFA) on promotion on the French store, with a 20,000 mAh battery. They are less powerful and not as good for photos, but they last longer.

Alternatives to the Blackview Xplore 6
Doogee V Max 2 Pro
The Oukitel WP500 Ultra costs around €600 (about 394,000 FCFA) and carries a 640 x 512 pixel thermal camera, but its LCD screen and 45W charging are a long way behind. Compare it too with Ulefone’s flagship model and Doogee’s.
Conclusion: should you buy the Blackview Xplore 6?
The Blackview Xplore 6 is something new: a rugged phone that sacrifices neither the chip, nor the display, nor the charging speed. For a guide, a wildlife photographer or a site manager who wants a single device, the spec sheet is convincing.
Three reservations stop us from recommending it with our eyes closed. Nobody has yet measured its battery life or judged its photos. Software support is not guaranteed. And buying direct complicates the warranty, especially from Africa. If there is no rush, wait for the first reviews and for it to reach French retailers.
Good to know — This page will receive a detailed score as soon as independent reviews have been published. The prices recorded in September 2026 may have changed.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Blackview Xplore 6 price in France?
The Blackview Xplore 6 price is around €950 (about 623,000 FCFA) for the 18 + 512GB version with the launch codes, with the teleconverter, case, charging dock and earbuds included. The list price noted by the German press is €1,199.99 (about 787,000 FCFA). It is ordered from the brand’s official store, since there was no listing at Amazon.fr, Fnac, Darty or Cdiscount as of 3 October 2026.
Does the Blackview Xplore 6 have a thermal camera?
No. The standard model has neither a thermal camera nor a night-vision camera. That sensor is reserved for the Blackview Xplore 6 Pro, which adds a 256 x 192 pixel module, with an image enlarged by software up to 1,440 x 1,080 pixels. If thermal imaging is your priority, wait for the price of the Pro version or look at the Oukitel WP500 Ultra, whose sensor has a higher resolution.
Is the Blackview Xplore 6 waterproof?
Yes, on paper. It is rated IP68, for dust and immersion, and IP69K, for hot, high-pressure water jets. Blackview also claims compliance with the MIL-STD-810H standard and resistance to 2-metre drops. These certifications cover neither seawater nor the wear of the seals over time. Rinse the device in fresh water after use.
Does the Xplore 6 work in Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire or Senegal?
Yes. It is compatible with 4G bands 1, 3, 7, 8, 20 and 28, used by most operators in West and Central Africa, and with the n78 5G band. It takes two SIM cards, or one SIM and a microSD card. However, it is not officially distributed in these countries: you have to import it, pay customs duties and accept a warranty handled from abroad.
What is the best rugged phone of 2026?
It all depends on how you use it. For power, display and camera, the Blackview Xplore 6 leads the category on paper, pending the reviews. For thermal imaging, the Oukitel WP500 Ultra or the Pro version are a better fit. For sheer battery life, the 20,000 mAh models, such as the Xplore 2, last longer for less than half the price.
