The Redmi Note 15 Pro is the Xiaomi mid-ranger to remember in late 2026 if what you want above all is a big battery, a very bright display and a phone that shrugs off drops. Launched in France on 15 January 2026 at €399 (around 262,000 FCFA) in its 5G version, it now sells for between €300 and €380 depending on the seller, which completely changes the judgement it deserves. Its chip remains modest and its interface shows ads: gamers and anyone allergic to imposed apps will look elsewhere. For everyone else, it has become a good deal.

Introduction: the Redmi Note 15 Pro, a best-seller with a new recipe

The Redmi Note range is Xiaomi’s best-selling line, and the Pro model is its core. The fifteenth generation was born in China in the summer of 2025, then Xiaomi launched its international versions in January 2026. In France, the family includes three Pro models: a 4G version, a 5G version and a more expensive Redmi Note 15 Pro+. This guide covers the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G, the one most shops sell under the short name.

Compared with the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G of 2025, Xiaomi has changed its priorities. The curved screen gives way to a larger flat panel, the battery goes from 5,110 to 6,580 mAh and the advertised brightness doubles. On the other hand, the chip barely moves forward and the camera module stays the same on paper. The launch price, for its part, has not budged: €399, like the previous generations.

The official specifications are detailed on the manufacturer’s page (in French). For the rest, this guide relies on the measurements from the reviews published by GSMArena, Phonandroid and Clubic, as well as on buyer feedback. Our team has not had the device in its hands: every observation about real-world use is attributed to its source.

Verdict in brief: our view of the Redmi Note 15 Pro

Verdict in 30 seconds

7.8/10Good value

A long-lasting, bright and sturdy mid-ranger whose chip and software are not on the same level as the rest. At 399 euros it faced serious rivals; at around 300 to 350 euros it becomes a sensible buy.

For whom Those who want to last two days without a charger, read their screen in direct sunlight and keep their phone for a long time without babying it.

Avoid if You play demanding 3D games, you often shoot with zoom or you cannot stand ads in system apps.

Three figures sum up the Redmi Note 15 Pro. First, the 6,580 mAh of the battery, close to 30% more than the previous model in an 8 mm body. Then the 3,200 nits of peak brightness, a value that independent measurements confirm. The third is less flattering: an AnTuTu score of around 650,000 points, recorded by GSMArena, when rivals sold at the same price go well beyond a million.

Redmi Note 15 Pro design: flat, sober and built to last

With the Redmi Note 15 Pro, Xiaomi has dropped the curved edges of the previous generation. The screen is flat, so is the back, and the frame keeps the same width all the way round. It looks less flattering in a shop window, but it is more practical: screen protectors go on without trouble.

The materials give away the positioning. The frame is plastic, as is the back, offered in black, glacier blue or titanium grey. Only the front gets glass, a Gorilla Glass Victus 2. GSMArena and Phonandroid record 210 g on the scales for a thickness of 8 mm: this is a big phone, one that is handled with two hands.

Toughness is the real selling point. The listings of French retailers mention IP66 and IP68, and GSMArena and Phonandroid also cite IP69K, which covers high-pressure hot water jets. Xiaomi also claims resistance to drops from up to 2.5 m thanks to a reinforced internal structure. In a hot, humid and dusty climate, from Douala to Dakar, that protection counts for more than a glass back.

The fingerprint reader sits under the screen, and an infrared emitter makes it possible to control a television or an air conditioner. There is neither a headphone jack nor a microSD card slot.

Display: a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel that is not afraid of the sun

The screen of the Redmi Note 15 Pro grows from 6.67 to 6.83 inches. It is an AMOLED panel of 2,772 x 1,280 pixels, or 447 pixels per inch, refreshed at 120 Hz. It shows 12-bit colour and supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+.

The published measurements prove Xiaomi right on brightness. GSMArena records 835 nits in manual mode, 1,900 nits in automatic mode in direct sunlight and a 3,352-nit peak on a small area of the image. The screen therefore stays readable outdoors at midday.

The refresh rate is not driven by an LTPO panel. The phone switches between 30, 60, 90 and 120 Hz depending on the content, without dropping to 1 Hz as high-end models do. Sound comes from two stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, judged powerful but unbalanced by Phonandroid.

Performance: the weak point of the Redmi Note 15 Pro

This is where the Redmi Note 15 Pro disappoints. The MediaTek Dimensity 7400-Ultra chip, built on a 4 nm process, brings only a marginal gain over last year’s Dimensity 7300-Ultra. GSMArena records 652,862 points on AnTuTu 10, 1,045 and 2,913 points on Geekbench 6, and around 1,000 points on 3DMark Wild Life Extreme. Those are the scores of a €250 phone.

Day to day: smooth, with no headroom

For messaging, browsing, social networks and video, this chip is enough. The reviews do not report any annoying slowdown in the interface. The headroom is thin, however: in three or four years, it will show its limits sooner than its better-equipped rivals.

In games: settings to turn down

Light games run without difficulty. On demanding 3D titles such as Genshin Impact, medium graphics settings are as far as it goes. The upside of this well-behaved chip is temperature: GSMArena talks about excellent thermal management, with no drop in performance during prolonged tests, and Phonandroid notes no overheating.

Memory and storage: generous but dated

France gets two versions, 8 + 256 GB and 8 + 512 GB, to which some sellers add variants with 12 GB of RAM. The capacity is generous, the technology less so: LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage are old standards. Xiaomi has saved money where it shows the least, in the middle of the surge in memory prices.

Camera: a convincing 200 MP sensor, but a lonely one

The back of the Redmi Note 15 Pro has two useful cameras. The main sensor is a 200 MP Samsung Isocell HPE, in 1/1.4-inch format, behind a stabilised lens equivalent to 23 mm with an f/1.7 aperture. The ultra-wide is limited to 8 MP, without autofocus. There is no telephoto.

illustration-photo-15 Redmi Note 15 Pro: specs, price and full review

Main sensor: reliable by day and by night

By default, the phone groups pixels to produce 12 MP images. According to GSMArena, daylight photos are sharp, detailed and well coloured, with a wider dynamic range than that of the Pro+, whose rendering is more contrasty. Phonandroid does point out stray flare when facing light sources and an autofocus that is sometimes slow.

At night, the large sensor and the stabilisation do their job. GSMArena describes clean and detailed images, on a par with those of the Pro+. The 200 MP mode, for its part, is mostly a marketing argument: the files are heavy and less contrasty.

Zoom and ultra-wide: the limits of the budget

Without a telephoto, zoom relies on cropping into the sensor. The 2x setting gives satisfying results in daylight, useful for portraits. At 4x the degradation is already obvious, and the 30x digital zoom is there for show.

The ultra-wide is the weak link. Images lack sharpness and contrast, with cooler tones than those of the main sensor according to Clubic. It will do for a landscape or a group photo in broad daylight, nothing more.

Video and selfies: decent, with no 4K at 60 frames per second

Video tops out at 4K at 30 frames per second on the main sensor, with electronic stabilisation judged effective but slightly jerky. GSMArena calls night video excellent for the category. At the front, the 20 MP camera delivers sharp selfies, with an average level of detail.

Battery and charging: two days away from the socket

This is the whole point of this generation. The 6,580 mAh silicon-carbon battery lasts two days in moderate use according to all the reviews consulted. Clubic measures 16 h 26 on PCMark, four hours better than the Note 14 Pro. Phonandroid gets 17 h 20 on its own protocol, and GSMArena calculates an active use score of around 15 h 30.

illustration-recharge-4 Redmi Note 15 Pro: specs, price and full review
Illustrative photo, unrelated to the product shown. Credit: rawpixel (CC0).

In cities where power cuts set the rhythm of the week, that gap carries a lot of weight. The 22.5 W wired reverse charging can also help out another device.

Charging itself is more ordinary. Power tops out at 45 W: GSMArena records 27% in 15 minutes, 47% in 30 minutes and a full charge in 1 h 13. Phonandroid counts 77 minutes. There is no wireless charging.

Good to know — in France, the box does not contain a charger: the Fnac and Darty listings say so, and buyers will only find a USB-C cable and a soft case inside. The GSMArena unit came with a 45 W brick: the contents vary from country to country.

Software: HyperOS 3 has arrived, the ads have stayed

The Redmi Note 15 Pro shipped with HyperOS 2 and Android 15, even though Android 16 already existed. The gap is closing: according to the firmware tracking of the MIUIROM site, HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 was released on 2 September 2026 for the global version, then on 28 September for the European version.

Xiaomi promises four major Android versions and six years of security patches, according to GSMArena, Phonandroid and Clubic. The phone should therefore receive Android 19 and stay protected until 2032. The commitment is honourable at this price.

The main flaw lies elsewhere. Clubic counts more than twenty preinstalled apps and describes unsolicited notifications sent by the App Mall store. Phonandroid talks about advertising pressure that is too strong. Most of these prompts can be switched off in the settings, at the cost of a quarter of an hour of tweaking.

On the artificial intelligence side, the offer rests on Google: Gemini and the Circle to Search feature. At launch, GSMArena noted the absence of Xiaomi’s in-house tools, such as the interpreter or writing assistance.

Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G, 4G or Pro+: which one to get?

Three phones carry almost the same name, and confusion is common on retail sites.

  • Redmi Note 15 Pro 4G: Helio G200-Ultra chip, 6.77-inch Full HD+ display, 6,500 mAh battery, plain IP65, Wi-Fi 5.
  • Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G: Dimensity 7400-Ultra chip, 6.83-inch 1.5K display, 6,580 mAh, 45 W charging, IP68.
  • Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G: Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip, 6,500 mAh, 100 W charging, 32 MP selfie camera, launched at €499 (around 327,000 FCFA).

Redmi Note 15 Pro vs Redmi Note 15 Pro+: a €100 gap at launch

The Pro+ brings a slightly faster chip and above all 100 W charging, which fills the battery in around forty minutes. The display and the main sensor are very close. Promotions have sometimes brought the Pro+ down to the price of the Pro, or even below: at the same price, take the Pro+ without hesitation.

The 4G version: one to avoid in Europe, defensible elsewhere

The Galaxus journalist who tried the 4G version considers the absence of 5G a deal-breaker in 2026. In France, that is true. In countries where 5G remains rare or confined to a few districts, the 4G model still makes sense if it is clearly cheaper. Check that the 5G label appears on the box.

Price and availability of the Redmi Note 15 Pro in France and in Africa

Redmi Note 15 Pro price in France in October 2026

The official launch price was €399 (around 262,000 FCFA) for 8 + 256 GB and €429 (around 281,000 FCFA) for 8 + 512 GB. In the spring, the figures recorded by Journal du Geek and Clubic pointed instead to €403 and €433 as reference prices. Almost nobody pays that price.

In early October 2026, the 256 GB version is listed from €352 (around 231,000 FCFA) on Darty and from €381 (around 250,000 FCFA) on Fnac, in both cases through partner sellers. In April, Clubic spotted the 512 GB version at €299 (around 196,000 FCFA). The lowest offers come from AliExpress, at around €240 (around 157,000 FCFA), with a warranty and returns that are less straightforward.

Redmi Note 15 Pro: Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Senegal

Xiaomi is officially present in West and Central Africa. The series was launched in Abidjan on 23 January 2026, with prices announced between 199 and 499 dollars depending on the model, according to Fraternité Matin. The press release does not detail prices in FCFA.

In Cameroon, we found no official price. The comparison site Mobile57 puts forward around 336,000 FCFA (around €513) for the 5G model, an estimate to be treated with caution. At resellers in Douala or Yaoundé, compare with the converted French price and insist on an invoice, which the warranty depends on.

On the network side, the global version supports dual SIM, eSIM and the most common 4G bands (B1, B3, B7, B8, B20, B28). It therefore works with MTN, Orange and the other operators in the region, and supports 5G bands n77 and n78.

The Infinix Note 60 Pro is the most direct rival in Africa: a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip, 90 W charging and wireless charging, for a price estimated at between 180,000 and 210,000 FCFA. The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, launched at €499 (around 327,000 FCFA), adds a 3.5x periscope telephoto and an ad-free interface. The Poco F9 Pro plays in a different price bracket, with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip built for gaming.

Two match-ups come up often in searches, and we have covered them separately: Redmi Note 15 Pro against Poco X8 Pro for those who put power first, and Galaxy A57 against Redmi Note 15 Pro for those who are hesitating over a Samsung.

Conclusion: should you buy the Redmi Note 15 Pro?

Yes, provided you do not pay full price for it. At €399, this phone ran into faster competitors, and sometimes into its own discounted predecessor. At around €300 to €350, the equation changes: few models offer such battery life, such a bright display and genuine water resistance at that price.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro suits those who call, browse, watch videos and take photos without chasing performance. It suits gamers and zoom enthusiasts less well. For owners of a Note 14 Pro, the upgrade only makes sense for the battery.

Our pick

Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G in 8 + 256 GB — the longest-lasting of Xiaomi’s mid-rangers, to be bought under €350 (around 230,000 FCFA) rather than at its official price, for those who put battery life and toughness ahead of power.

Frequently asked questions

What is the price of the Redmi Note 15 Pro in France?

The 5G version was launched on 15 January 2026 at €399 (around 262,000 FCFA) for 8 + 256 GB and €429 (around 281,000 FCFA) for 8 + 512 GB. In early October 2026, French retailers list it at roughly €350 to €400 for 256 GB, and occasional promotions have taken it below €300. Remember to add the price of a 45 W charger if you do not have one, since it is not supplied in France.

Redmi Note 15 Pro review: is it a good phone in 2026?

It is a good phone for everyday use, not for gaming. The reviews published by Clubic, GSMArena and Phonandroid agree on its qualities: two-day battery life, a very bright display, solid construction and a reliable main sensor. They also agree on its flaws: a chip that lacks power, a mediocre ultra-wide camera and an interface loaded with ads.

Is the Redmi Note 15 Pro waterproof?

Yes. The 5G version is IP68 certified, which corresponds to immersion in fresh water, and several sources also mention the IP66 and IP69K ratings against water jets. Be careful: the 4G version stops at IP65, which protects against splashes and dust but not against immersion.

How many updates will the Redmi Note 15 Pro get?

Xiaomi promises four major Android versions and six years of security patches. Since the phone launched on Android 15, it should go as far as Android 19 and receive patches until 2032. The first major update, HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, started arriving in September 2026 on the global and European versions.

Can you buy the Redmi Note 15 Pro in Cameroon?

Yes, through resellers and online shops, but we found no official Xiaomi price for Cameroon. An estimate of around 336,000 FCFA is circulating for the 5G version. Before paying, check that it really is the global 5G version, new and sealed, and ask for an invoice for the warranty.
