The Doogee V Max 2 Pro is the most extreme rugged phone in Doogee’s 2026 catalogue: a 22,000 mAh battery, 120W charging, a Dimensity 8300 chip, 1TB of storage and a 200MP sensor backed by a night-vision camera. It also weighs 635g, the equivalent of three regular smartphones stacked together. This is a field tool for people who spend several days away from a power socket, not a pocket phone. Listed at $859 on the official store, it has been tested very little by the independent press, which calls for caution.

Introduction: the Doogee V Max 2 Pro, a giant battery with a phone around it

At Doogee, the V Max series has always had a single obsession: lasting longer than everyone else. The first model, in 2023, already packed 22,000 mAh. Three years later the capacity has not moved, but everything else has changed. The Shenzhen brand has adopted a Dimensity 8300, more than tripled the charging power and added a small screen on the back.

The Doogee V Max 2 Pro was shown at the MWC trade show in Barcelona in late February 2026, then went on sale in the spring, between April and May according to the specialist databases. It comes in a single configuration, 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, offered in black, grey and titanium. A Doogee V Max 2 without the Pro suffix sits alongside it, with 512GB of storage and a gentler price.

Who is it for? Site managers, technicians, foresters, lorry drivers and long-haul travellers, for whom a dead battery costs a day’s work. If you are looking for a reinforced phone that slips into a jeans pocket, look elsewhere.

Verdict in brief: a battery monster that has barely been tested

The product is genuinely on sale, but the independent reviews can be counted on the fingers of one hand. To our knowledge, only the DeviceSpecifications site has published a detailed review, and most other articles repeat the manufacturer’s spec sheet. We therefore prefer not to give a numerical score for the time being.

Awaiting review — The Doogee V Max 2 Pro ticks the boxes of a long-lasting field phone: 22,000 mAh, 120W, Dimensity 8300, 1TB. Its size and the lack of independent measurements stop us from recommending it with our eyes closed.

  • Who it is for: field professionals and travellers who go several days without a socket and accept a very heavy device.
  • Avoid if: you want a pocket phone, a very bright screen in full sunlight or software support guaranteed over several years.

What looks promising:

  • Several days of battery life and 120W charging with the charger included.
  • The power of the Dimensity 8300, the 16GB of RAM and the expandable 1TB of storage.
  • The field tools: 1,000-lumen lights, night vision, walkie-talkie, 33W reverse charging.

Still to be confirmed:

  • The battery life and charging time measured by independent tests.
  • The real brightness of the display and the quality of the 200MP photos.
  • The update policy, the price in euros and how regular the stock is.

Design of the Doogee V Max 2 Pro: 635g, 29.4 mm and a screen on the back

Let us be frank: the Doogee V Max 2 Pro looks more like a reinforced power bank than a phone. It measures 184.9 mm high, 84.6 mm wide and 29.4 mm thick, when a current smartphone rarely exceeds 9 mm. You will keep it in a work jacket, a satchel or a vehicle mount, not in a pair of trousers.

A phone you hold with two hands

With a body this size, one-handed use is wishful thinking, and the weight tires the wrist during a long call. The chassis combines polycarbonate, reinforcements at all four corners and rubberised strips, the usual recipe for building-site devices. The fingerprint reader is housed on the side.

A small rear screen to keep an eye on the battery

The visible new feature is on the back: a 1.05-inch TFT screen, at 120 x 240 pixels. Doogee presents it as a charge display, which shows the battery level without switching on the main panel. That is practical when the device is serving as a backup battery, lying face down. Its size rules out any other serious use.

The published spec sheets do not mention a 3.5 mm headphone jack, which is surprising on a device this thick. The tray, on the other hand, takes two nano-SIMs and a microSD card of up to 2TB, a trio that has become rare.

Durability and certifications: IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD-810H

The Doogee V Max 2 Pro displays the trio you expect in this category. The IP68 rating guarantees protection against dust and immersion at 1.5 m for 30 minutes. IP69K adds resistance to hot, high-pressure water jets, which means it can be rinsed after a day in mud or cement. The MIL-STD-810H military standard covers shocks, vibrations and temperature swings.

A reminder is in order: this standard is a test method, not a label issued by an independent body. Doogee does not specify a drop height either, and the energy of an impact is far greater at 635g than at 200g.

Good to know — The brand says so itself: resistance to water, dust and drops can decrease with wear, impacts or a port cover that has not been closed properly. Water damage linked to misuse is excluded from the warranty.

Display: a 6.78-inch IPS panel at 120Hz, nothing excessive

The Doogee V Max 2 Pro gets a 6.78-inch IPS LCD panel at 2,460 x 1,080 pixels, or about 396 pixels per inch. The 120Hz refresh rate makes scrolling smooth, a comfort that rugged phones ignored for a long time. Choosing LCD avoids any burn-in when a map stays on screen for hours.

Brightness is the point to watch. Doogee does not give a figure, and the databases disagree: GSMchoice mentions 550 nits, others put it at 650. That remains a long way from the 1,500 nits of high-end smartphones. Under the midday sun, in Douala as in Marseille, you will probably have to look for shade to read a detailed plan.

Performance: the Dimensity 8300 shakes up rugged phone habits

Building-site phones usually settle for modest chips. The Doogee V Max 2 Pro carries a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 built on a 4 nm process, with eight cores clocked at up to 3.35 GHz and a Mali-G615 graphics unit. This chip powered punchy mid-range phones in 2024, and it is still very comfortable in 2026.

Memory and storage: 16GB and 1TB

RAM reaches 16GB. The 48GB figure doing the rounds in the listings adds 32GB of extended memory, taken from the storage and markedly slower. Against a background of rising memory prices, the 1TB of storage explains a good part of the price.

Published scores and gaming

The measurements available come from aggregators, not from laboratories. Kimovil gives around 845,000 points on AnTuTu 11, while another database quotes close to 1.37 million without specifying the version of the test. The order of magnitude is enough: browsing, business apps, video calls and most games will run without difficulty.

Network and connectivity

The Doogee V Max 2 Pro supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC, with Google Pay. The dual-frequency GPS (L1 and L5) also relies on Galileo, GLONASS and BeiDou, an asset for surveying in the field. No satellite messaging has been announced.

Camera: 200MP and night vision, promises still to be confirmed

A 200MP main sensor

The main module of the Doogee V Max 2 Pro uses the Samsung ISOCELL HP2, a 1/1.3-inch sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, according to the published spec sheets. By default it produces 12.5MP images through pixel binning, and the full resolution is mainly useful for cropping. Image processing, however, has always been the weak point of these brands, and there are not enough independent tests to judge the result.

A rugged phone with night vision

The second sensor, a 64MP OmniVision OV64B, is paired with infrared LEDs. It films and takes photos in black and white in total darkness. It is useful for a security round or for inspecting premises with no electricity, but it does not replace a thermal camera, which Doogee reserves for its S300 range: it sees in the dark, it does not measure heat.

Ultra-wide, selfie and video

The 8MP ultra-wide, with its 119-degree field of view, also serves as a macro mode. The 32MP front camera will be enough for video calls. The databases mention 4K recording, with no optical stabilisation confirmed by the brand.

Field features: camping lights, walkie-talkie and backup battery

This is the chapter where a rugged phone sets itself apart from a smartphone slipped into a thick case. The Doogee V Max 2 Pro brings several of them together:

  • two camping lights rated at 1,000 lumens, with adjustable intensity, a flashing mode and an SOS signal;
  • Push-to-Talk over the cellular network, which turns it into a walkie-talkie through a compatible app;
  • 33W reverse charging by cable, to revive another phone, a head torch or a payment terminal;
  • two speakers, useful for hearing a call in a noisy workshop.

The lights come in handy during a power cut or a night-time car breakdown. The walkie-talkie, for its part, depends on the mobile network: it does not work over direct radio waves and is useless without coverage. A team spread across a site with 4G coverage, on the other hand, will find it an instant way of communicating.

Battery life and charging of the Doogee V Max 2 Pro: 22,000 mAh and 120W

This is the device’s reason for being. A 22,000 mAh battery represents about 85 Wh of energy at the usual voltage of these cells, which is more than many laptops. The spec sheets talk about silicon-carbon chemistry, denser than conventional lithium-ion.

Real-world Doogee V Max 2 Pro battery life: how many days?

Doogee does not publish a precise usage time, and a European retailer mentions up to five days. The estimate seems reasonable for sustained use, and a week looks within reach with light use. These orders of magnitude follow from the capacity, not from published measurements.

120W charging changes everything

The previous V Max Pro recharged at 33W. The move to 120W fixes the main flaw of the series. The charger is supplied in the box, a gesture that has become rare. Doogee does not give an official charging time.

A backup battery for the rest of the team

The 33W output turns the Doogee V Max 2 Pro into a high-capacity power bank. There is no wireless charging. The estimated capacity stays under the 100 Wh threshold allowed in the cabin by most airlines, a point to check on the label before boarding.

Software: near-stock Android 16, and support that remains hazy

The Doogee V Max 2 Pro ships with Android 16, with an interface close to Google’s own and the Play Store. The brand adds its usual toolbox (compass, spirit level, sound meter, plumb line) as well as the settings for the lights.

The real issue is how long the support lasts. The official page promises no updates, neither for Android nor for security patches. Kimovil shows six years, but nothing confirms that figure on the manufacturer’s side. It is better to assume that it will stay on Android 16, especially if you install banking apps on it.

Doogee V Max 2 Pro price and availability in France, Europe and Africa

The official price and the prices seen elsewhere

On the brand’s online store, the Doogee V Max 2 Pro price is set at $859, which is about €741 (about 486,000 FCFA). The official Doogee V Max 2 Pro page nevertheless showed it as out of stock in early October 2026. The databases give lower prices: GSMArena quotes around €630 (about 413,000 FCFA), and Kimovil records offers from €524 (about 344,000 FCFA) on import.

In France and Europe

There is no official retail price in euros. Doogee ships from a European warehouse, with delivery announced in three to ten working days. We found no product listing at Amazon.fr, Fnac, Darty or Cdiscount at the time of writing. The manufacturer’s warranty runs for one year, but the two-year legal guarantee applies if the seller is established in the European Union.

In West and Central Africa: a real market, but through imports

Rugged phones have a natural audience in Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire or Senegal: building sites, logging and mining operations, hauliers, and motorbike-taxi riders exposed to rain and dust. A battery that lasts a week also has obvious value in places where power cuts are part of daily life.

Yet Doogee has neither an official distributor nor a known authorised repair centre in these countries. Buying one means going through the brand’s store, AliExpress or a local importer. Shipping costs, customs duties and the reseller’s margin can push the bill beyond €762 (about 500,000 FCFA). In the event of a fault, the Doogee V Max 2 Pro will have to be sent back abroad or entrusted to an independent repairer.

On the network side, the published spec sheets list 4G bands 1, 3, 7, 8, 20 and 28, as well as n78 5G, the most widely used in West and Central Africa. Ask the seller to confirm which version is being shipped, and remember IMEI registration, which is now checked in several countries.

Pros and cons

Strengths

  • A 22,000 mAh battery that promises several days of heavy use.
  • 120W charging, with the charger included, and 33W reverse charging.

  • 1TB of storage, expandable by microSD up to 2TB.
  • Camping lights, night vision and a walkie-talkie over the mobile network.

Weaknesses

  • 635g and nearly 3 cm thick: it does not fit in a pocket.
  • Modest screen brightness for outdoor use.
  • No promise of Android or security updates.
  • No official price in euros, few retailers, irregular stock.
  • Very few independent reviews, no thermal camera and no satellite link.

Three competitors deserve to be compared with the Doogee V Max 2 Pro. The Oukitel WP500 Ultra uses the same chip and the same storage in a 414g format, with a thermal camera but a 10,000 mAh battery. See also our page on Ulefone’s flagship rugged phone, from the brand with the best distribution in Europe, and the one on Blackview’s flagship model. Within Doogee’s own range, the standard V Max 2 offers the same stamina for less money if 512GB is enough for you.

Conclusion: should you buy the Doogee V Max 2 Pro?

The Doogee V Max 2 Pro answers a simple question: do you need several days of battery life, with no compromise on power? If so, few devices can stand up to it. A giant battery, charging that is fast at last, a serious chip and 1TB of storage make it a coherent tool for the field.

If the answer is no, its weight rules it out, and a rugged phone of 300 to 400g will do the same job. We are reserving our final opinion until there are more independent measurements of battery life, brightness and photo quality. Until then, buy it from a seller that accepts returns.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Doogee V Max 2 Pro price in France?

There is no official price in euros. The brand’s store lists it at $859, which is about €741 (about 486,000 FCFA), with shipping from a European warehouse. Import sellers offer it at between €524 (about 344,000 FCFA) and €630 (about 413,000 FCFA) according to Kimovil and GSMArena. No listing existed at Amazon.fr, Fnac, Darty or Cdiscount in early October 2026.

How long does the Doogee V Max 2 Pro battery last?

The brand does not give a precise figure. With 22,000 mAh, about four times the capacity of a regular smartphone, a European retailer mentions up to five days of use. The estimate seems credible for sustained use, and light use should go beyond a week. Independent measurements remain rare. The 120W charging, charger included, limits the downtime.

What is the difference between the Doogee V Max 2 and the Doogee V Max 2 Pro?

The two models share the 22,000 mAh battery, the 120W charging, the Dimensity 8300 chip, the 6.78-inch display and the 635g chassis, according to the published spec sheets. The Pro version stands out mainly for its 1TB of storage, against 512GB. Kimovil records the standard model from €467 (about 306,000 FCFA), which is around sixty euros less.

Does this rugged phone work in Cameroon and West Africa?

Yes, in principle: the Doogee V Max 2 Pro is sold unlocked. The spec sheets list 4G bands 1, 3, 7, 8, 20 and 28 and n78 5G, used by most operators in the region, and the device takes two nano-SIMs. It will have to be imported, because Doogee has no known official distributor in West and Central Africa, and you then need to plan for IMEI registration and customs duties. Keep the invoice and the original packaging for after-sales service.
