A Nearly Identical Design for the OnePlus 13 and its Predecessor
Weighing 220g, the OnePlus 12 measures 164.3 × 75.8 × 9.2 mm and is available in Flowy Emerald and Silky Black. On the other hand, the OnePlus 13 appears slightly shorter but a bit wider. OnePlus has not completely overhauled the physical appearance of its latest product, as it looks almost identical to its predecessor. However, there are a few differences, such as the position of the LED flash, which is now nestled inside the camera island rather than in the top-left corner as on the OnePlus 12. Additionally, the company has improved protection against dust and water splashes with an IP68/IP69 rating for the OnePlus 13, compared to the IP65 rating of the OnePlus 12.

The OnePlus 13 Offers a Much More Engaging Display
The OnePlus 12 features a 6.82-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering vivid colors and excellent fluidity. It has a resolution of 1440×3168 pixels and 510 ppi. Regarding the display, little has changed, as the same specifications from the OnePlus 12 are found in the OnePlus 13. Expect a clear, detailed, and smooth visual experience from OnePlus’s newcomer.

Nevertheless, there are some differences in screen protection and refresh rate management. The OnePlus 13 comes with Crystal Shield glass protection, while the OnePlus 12 is equipped with Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Furthermore, the OnePlus 13 can adjust the refresh rate of specific areas of the screen based on the content displayed.

Performance and Software: A Much More Powerful OnePlus 13

Regarding performance, unlike its predecessor which uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the OnePlus 13 utilizes the recently released flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC.
Memory remains unchanged for the OnePlus 13, with storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB and RAM from 12GB to 24GB. However, the OnePlus flagship features a superior platform; it runs the latest ColorOS based on Android 15, unlike the OnePlus 12 which launched with Android 14 and OxygenOS. Both phones will receive four major OS updates and five years of security patches. Essentially, the OnePlus 12 will receive updates up to Android 17, while the OnePlus 13 will be supported until Android 18.
Battery and Charging
The OnePlus 13 features a larger 6,000 mAh battery, compared to the 5,400 mAh of the OnePlus 12. Both smartphones support 100W fast charging.

The OnePlus 13 marks a significant step forward from the OnePlus 12, thanks to improvements in performance, design, and features. While the OnePlus 12 remains a solid option for those seeking excellent value for money, the OnePlus 13 stands out as an essential choice for fans of cutting-edge technology and power.
