The Pixel 11 Pro is Google’s compact flagship for 2026: a 6.3-inch screen, three top-tier cameras and an official price of €1,199 (about 786,000 FCFA) with 256 GB. On sale since 20 August, it can already be found at €1,099 (about 721,000 FCFA) at the big French retailers. Published reviews of the Pixel 11 Pro praise the camera, the screen and the seven years of support, but point to a chip that lags behind and slow charging. It targets people who want the best Android camera in a pocketable size, not gamers.
Introduction: the Pixel 11 Pro, small size and big ambitions
Google presented its range on 12 August 2026, with sales starting on 20 August. The Pixel 11 Pro holds a place of its own in it: it takes the 6.3-inch diagonal of the Pixel 11 and grafts on the camera hardware of the big model.
The entry price of the Pixel 11 Pro climbs by €100 compared with the Pixel 10 Pro. In return, Google removes the 128 GB version and starts at 256 GB. The trade-off is less visible: the memory of the base model goes from 16 to 12 GB. We gave the first details in our article on the Pixel 11 Pro’s arrival in France.
Who is it for? People who refuse 6.8-inch phones but want a real zoom, a fine screen and an Android device supported until 2033. At this price, it runs into the iPhone 18 Pro and the best Chinese camera phones.
Verdict at a glance: the best compact Pixel, not the best buy at €1,199
Verdict in 30 seconds
The Pixel 11 Pro delivers one of the best camera performances of 2026 in a 6.3-inch body, with a very bright screen and seven years of support. Its chip, its 30 W charging and its memory cut to 12 GB weigh on an official price that is too high.
For whom Photography fans who want a compact, simple Android phone supported until 2033

Three figures matter in this table. The telephoto sensor grows to 1/1.95 inch, or about 30% more surface area according to T3: it is the clearest hardware step forward. Screen brightness reaches a 3,600-nit peak, against 3,300 on the Pixel 10 Pro. The battery, for its part, stays at 4,850 mAh.
Design of the Pixel 11 Pro: a familiar outline, one extra LED
Google changes almost nothing. The recycled aluminium chassis measures 152.7 x 71.9 x 8.4 mm and weighs 204 g, which is 3 g less than its predecessor. The Gorilla Glass Victus 2 back keeps a matte finish, and the horizontal camera bar remains the house signature. T3 warns that the metal frame scratches quickly.
The colours change: Google offers a peach pink, an olive green, a light grey and a matte black. The Pixel 11 Pro is IP68 rated, so protected against dust and immersion.
HiLight, the notification LED reserved for the Pro models
The only visible novelty hides around the flash. HiLight brings together eight LEDs, according to PhoneArena, which light up when a favourite contact calls or when you talk to Gemini. The system is only useful if the phone is lying face down on the table.
Reviewers remain cool. PhoneArena sees a gimmick, T3 finds it barely passable, and 91mobiles regrets the lack of settings. It is not a reason to buy.
Durability: the lowest score in the family
The European energy label holds a surprise. According to the data recorded by SmartWorld, the Pixel 11 Pro gets class B for drop resistance, with 180 drops without a fault. The Pixel 11 and the Pro XL earn class A, with 270 drops. A case is therefore a reasonable expense.
Display: a 6.3-inch LTPO panel that climbs to 3,600 nits
The Super Actua screen of the Pixel 11 Pro is a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED panel with a resolution of 1,280 x 2,856 pixels, or 495 pixels per inch. The refresh rate varies from 1 to 120 Hz depending on what is on screen. That range is what most clearly separates the Pro from the base model, which is limited to two steps of 60 and 120 Hz.
Google quotes 2,400 nits in HDR and a 3,600-nit peak. PhoneArena measures more than 3,000 nits on a 20% white window, which places the Pixel 11 Pro among the brightest phones of the moment. L’Éclaireur Fnac also notes a more effective anti-reflective coating. In full sun, in Paris as in Douala, the display stays readable without straining.
Performance: the Tensor G6 moves forward, the competition runs
A Tensor G6 chip designed for AI
The Tensor G6 in the Pixel 11 Pro is manufactured by TSMC. Beebom mentions a 2 nm process, while several reviewers still write 3 nm. The chip has seven cores, including one C1-Ultra at 4.11 GHz. Google promises up to 20% better energy efficiency. We set out its architecture in our article on the Pixel 11 and the Tensor G6.
The published figures show the size of the gap. PhoneArena records 2,332 points in single-core and 6,438 in multi-core under Geekbench, against 2,024 and 6,037 for the Pixel 10 Pro. On AnTuTu, 91mobiles gets 1.42 million points, when the Vivo X300 Pro exceeds 3.5 million.
12 GB of memory: the step back that stings
The 256 GB version makes do with 12 GB of RAM. You have to move up to the 512 GB or 1 TB model to get back the 16 GB of the Pixel 10 Pro. PhoneArena puts this step back down to soaring component prices, which we explain in our feature on the RAM shortage. On a phone meant to run AI models locally for seven years, the saving goes down badly.
In daily use, nobody reports any slowness. L’Éclaireur Fnac estimates that the device gives up about 20% of power to a Galaxy S26 without it showing in everyday tasks.
Gaming and heat
Gaming remains the weak point. The Tensor G6 keeps a PowerVR graphics unit whose design is old, according to Beebom. PhoneArena talks about excessive heat in games, Business Today about gradual drops in smoothness at high settings. If you play Genshin Impact for an hour a day, look elsewhere.
The MediaTek M90 modem replaces the Exynos modem of previous generations, criticised for its reception. The Pixel 11 Pro handles Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, UWB and Sub-6 5G. As for cards, it takes one nano-SIM and one eSIM: no physical dual SIM.
Camera: the real case for the Pixel 11 Pro
50 MP main sensor: deliberate continuity
The main module of the Pixel 11 Pro keeps a 50 MP sensor in the 1/1.3-inch format, with an f/1.68 aperture and stabilisation. PetaPixel describes it as identical on paper to last year’s, with lower power consumption. The rendering is what you expect from a Pixel: accurate colours, natural skin tones, wide dynamic range.

L’Éclaireur Fnac ranks its low-light results among the very best on the market and highlights the colour consistency between the three modules. DXOMARK gives 168 points to the Pixel 11 Pro XL, which shares the same camera unit according to the official spec sheet. That score puts it in fifth place, level with the iPhone 17 Pro.
5x telephoto and 120x zoom
The progress is concentrated here. The 48 MP telephoto (f/2.8, 5x optical zoom) receives a 1/1.95-inch sensor. PetaPixel finds a clear gain in low light and a better level of detail. It is the most concrete difference from the Pixel 11, whose telephoto relies on a sensor three times smaller.
Pro zoom goes up to 120x, against 100x before. It relies on generative AI that rebuilds the details. PetaPixel finds it usable only on non-human subjects. The 48 MP ultra-wide (f/1.7, 123°) is also used for macro, but DXOMARK criticises it for a lack of detail and excessive contrast.
Video, selfies and new creative tools
Video goes up to 4K at 60 frames per second, and to 8K at 30 frames per second thanks to Video Boost processing in the cloud. DXOMARK notes weaknesses in stabilisation and in low light. PhoneArena rates video 7.1 out of 10, against 8.1 for photos. On this ground, the iPhone 18 Pro stays a step ahead.
The 42 MP front camera, with autofocus and a 103° field of view, gets 151 points at DXOMARK. Two software tools arrive: Magic Capture, which extracts the best photos from a filmed sequence, and Looks, colour profiles applied as the image is processed.
Battery life and charging: one day, then the cable
The 4,850 mAh battery of the Pixel 11 Pro barely moves. Google quotes more than 30 hours, and the European label indicates 47 hours 36 minutes of endurance, a little less than the Pixel 11. It also guarantees 80% capacity after 1,000 charge cycles.

The reviews diverge. L’Éclaireur Fnac talks about a long day of heavy use and clear progress. 91mobiles gets nearly 18 hours under PCMark and about six hours of screen-on time. T3 ends its busy days with an almost empty battery after sixteen hours.
The takeaway: one day, with no margin. In cities where power cuts are part of daily life, a power bank is a must. A Xiaomi 18 Pro and its 7,000 mAh play in another league on this point.
30 W wired charging, 25 W wireless
Wired charging on the Pixel 11 Pro tops out at 30 W. Google quotes 55% in 30 minutes. A full charge takes 1 hour 47 minutes according to L’Éclaireur Fnac, about 90 minutes according to 91mobiles. Only the Pro XL moves to 45 W. No charger is supplied: the box contains a one-metre USB-C cable.
Wireless charging makes more progress. It goes from 15 to 25 W with the Pixelsnap magnets, which are Qi2 compatible. PhoneArena points out that it is the only compact Android phone to offer this fast magnetic charging.
Software: Android 17, Gemini and seven years of updates
The Pixel 11 Pro launches with Android 17 in its cleanest version. Google promises seven years of system updates, security updates and Pixel Drop features, so until 2033. 91mobiles gives 9 out of 10 to the software, its best score.
Google includes six months of Google AI Pro subscription with the Pro models. It was twelve months on the Pixel 10 Pro, and T3 finds this trimming unwelcome.
The AI features of the Google Pixel 11 Pro in France
Not all the features presented in August are active in France. Here is what can be established from the published sources:
- Rambler, the dictation tool that cleans up hesitations and restarts, works in French according to Ariase.
- Magic Capture and the Gboard writing tools (rephrasing, correction, tone) are available.
- Proactive assistance and Gemini automations are not offered in France at launch, according to Presse-citron.
Ariase adds a useful nuance: compatible does not mean available, because the rollout depends on the language, the country and the model. If one specific feature is the reason for your purchase, check that it is active in your language before paying.
Good to know — The Pixel 11 Pro recognises a single physical nano-SIM, complemented by an eSIM. In countries where operators still rarely offer eSIM, you will therefore use only one line at a time.
Pixel 11 Pro or Pixel 10 Pro: what really changes
The list is short. The telephoto gains a large sensor, the screen 300 nits, wireless charging 10 W, base storage doubles, and the modem changes supplier. In the other direction, the memory of the base model loses 4 GB and the free AI subscription is cut in half.
The Pixel 10 Pro, meanwhile, has melted. Edcom recorded it at €749 (about 491,000 FCFA) on Amazon at the end of August, with its 16 GB of memory and support guaranteed until 2032. At €350 less than the street price of the Pixel 11 Pro, it remains the sensible choice if night-time zoom is not an obsession.
Pixel 11 Pro price and availability: France, Europe, West and Central Africa
Official prices and street prices in October 2026
In France, the official price list is as follows: €1,199 (about 786,000 FCFA) with 256 GB, €1,329 (about 872,000 FCFA) with 512 GB and €1,589 (about 1,042,000 FCFA) with 1 TB, according to the prices published by L’Éclaireur Fnac and Boulanger. The full specifications are on the official Google Store page for France.
Prices have already fallen. Presse-citron records €1,099 (about 721,000 FCFA) at Amazon, Fnac, Darty and Boulanger for the 256 GB version. Boulanger lists the 512 GB model at €1,229 (about 806,000 FCFA). RED by SFR offers it at €1,049 (about 688,000 FCFA) without a contract.

West and Central Africa: an import-only phone
Google does not sell its phones in Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire or Senegal, and we found no official price in FCFA. The Pixel 11 Pro gets there through importers or in a relative’s suitcase.
Two precautions before buying. The Google warranty applies in the country of purchase: in the event of a fault, the device will have to be sent back to Europe. Also check with the seller that the 4G and 5G bands of the European model match those of your operator.

These scores draw on the reviews published by L’Éclaireur Fnac, Clubic, PhoneArena, 91mobiles, T3, PetaPixel and DXOMARK, not on hands-on time by our newsroom. Ratings range from 7.4 out of 10 at PhoneArena to 8.4 at 91mobiles.
Alternatives to the Pixel 11 Pro
Xiaomi 18 Pro
The Pixel 11 offers the same size and the same support for €200 less, with more modest secondary sensors. The iPhone 18 Pro, at €1,479 (about 970,000 FCFA), dominates in video and in power. Less well known, the Xiaomi 18 Pro combines a 6.4-inch screen, two 200 MP sensors and 7,000 mAh; launched in China at 5,999 yuan, or roughly €750 (about 492,000 FCFA), it does not yet have a European price. The Galaxy S26 remains the most rational compact Android phone.
Pixel 11 Pro or Pixel 11 Pro XL: which one to choose?
The Pro XL costs €1,399 (about 918,000 FCFA). It brings a 6.8-inch screen, a 5,115 mAh battery and 45 W charging, which reaches 75% in 30 minutes. The cameras are identical. The choice therefore comes down to size and charging speed.
Conclusion: should you buy the Pixel 11 Pro?
Yes, if photography comes first and you are attached to the compact size. The Pixel 11 Pro has no equivalent: no other 6.3-inch Android phone sold in France lines up such a trio of cameras, and the seven years of support protect the purchase. No, if you play games, if you often charge in a hurry or if you count every euro: the chip and the charging are not worth the listed price.
The right reflex is not to pay €1,199. At €1,099, or less with a cashback offer, the equation becomes defensible.
Good to know — At €1,099 (about 721,000 FCFA) with 256 GB, the Pixel 11 Pro is justified for the camera and the software support. If the budget is tight, the Pixel 10 Pro at around €749 or the Pixel 11 at €899 do almost the same job.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Pixel 11 Pro price in France?
The official price is €1,199 (about 786,000 FCFA) with 256 GB, €1,329 with 512 GB and €1,589 with 1 TB. In early October 2026, the 256 GB version can be found at €1,099 at Amazon, Fnac, Darty and Boulanger, and at €1,049 at RED by SFR without a contract. Compare retailers before ordering.
What are the Pixel 11 Pro specs?
It carries a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED screen (1 to 120 Hz, 3,600-nit peak), the Tensor G6 chip, 12 or 16 GB of memory and 256 GB to 1 TB of storage. The camera system relies on a 50 MP main sensor, a 48 MP ultra-wide and a 48 MP 5x telephoto. The 4,850 mAh battery charges at 30 W wired and 25 W wireless. The whole thing weighs 204 g and is IP68 rated.
Is the Google Pixel 11 Pro waterproof?
Yes. It is IP68 rated, which means it is protected against dust and can withstand immersion in fresh water. That protection covers neither sea water nor chlorinated water. As for knocks, the European energy label gives it class B for drop resistance, one notch below the Pixel 11 and the Pro XL. A case is still recommended.
How long will the phone receive updates?
Google commits to seven years of Android system updates, security patches and Pixel Drop features. Released in August 2026 with Android 17, the device will therefore be supported until 2033. One question remains: will the 12 GB of memory in the 256 GB model be enough for the AI features that will arrive in five or six years?
Can you buy this Pixel in Cameroon or Côte d’Ivoire?
Not through an official channel. Google does not distribute its phones in West and Central Africa, and no price in FCFA is published. Buying means going through an importer or a relative in Europe. The warranty only applies in the country of purchase. Before paying, check that the 4G and 5G bands are compatible with your operator and remember that the phone takes only one physical SIM.
