Solitaire Zen is a card game from Naquatic, an American studio known for small mobile games. It takes Klondike, the patience game that used to ship with Windows, and sets it in a three-dimensional scene.
What Solitaire Zen is for
The rules are the familiar ones: build each suit from ace to king and stack the columns in alternating colours. What changes is the presentation. The cards sit in a 3D landscape and the developer describes it as virtual reality without a headset, so you can look around at the cards, the scenery and the sky while ambient sound plays in the background. If you would rather play flat, there is a non-VR control option. Games earn experience points, which raise your level and your rank on worldwide leaderboards.
Who is it for?
It is aimed at solitaire players on iPhone or iPad who want something more relaxing to look at than the usual green table. Bear in mind that the game has not been updated since 2021 and the interface is only in English, which hardly matters given how simple the rules are.
