Rules is a puzzle game published on the App Store by Marcel-André Casasola Merkle under the studio name 137b. Released in 2014, it picked up several awards, including Best Apple Watch Game of 2015 from the App Store and the 2015 German Computer Game Award for best mobile game.
What Rules is for
The board is covered with cards showing whales, unicorns, robots or squirrels. Each level introduces a new rule telling you which cards to clear, and you have to remember every rule you’ve already seen to empty the board in the right order. You can play in Beginner, Expert or untimed mode. On Apple Watch, a short daily exercise gives your memory a workout.
Who is it for?
Rules is for people who like brain teasers and memory games where the difficulty ramps up steadily. Rounds are quick, but the hundred-odd levels demand real focus. The colour perception assistance mode makes it playable for people with colour blindness.
Download Rules safely
Rules is sold on the App Store for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. It’s a one-off purchase with no ads and no in-app purchases. No official Android version exists, so free copies offered on download sites do not come from the publisher.
