Windows 11 can now open 7z and RAR archives without extra software. 7-Zip remains useful to create 7z archives, encrypt, split or handle large volumes faster.

The official site is 7-zip.org. Pick the 64-bit version for a recent PC. More or less modified copies circulate on other sites and are best avoided.
