Galaxy S26 FE: unboxing leak reveals everything before 27 August

An unboxing video posted on Instagram on 21 August by the account mundoelectronica.aa, relayed by SamMobile and then Android Authority, shows the phone from every angle, retail box included. Samsung has confirmed a 27 August event to introduce “the newest addition to the Galaxy S26 family”. Here is what the leak actually reveals, and what still deserves caution.

What the Galaxy S26 FE unboxing video shows

The clip lasts only a few dozen seconds, but that is enough to lift the veil on most of the design. The back of the Galaxy S26 FE appears in a highly reflective blue finish, a colour previous leaks refer to as Blueberry. The look is unmistakably glossy, almost mirror-like: Samsung seems to have aligned its Fan Edition model with the premium surface treatment used across the rest of the Galaxy S26 range.

The side rails deliberately contrast with that glossy back. They are completely flat, in a matte metallic finish. The power button and volume rocker stay in their usual position on the right-hand side. This glossy back and matte frame combination has become the range’s visual signature.

At the rear, we find the vertical three-lens layout already seen on previous generations. One visible change: the camera block now sits in a raised housing, whereas the S25 FE used individual flush lenses. Earlier leaks point to a 50-megapixel main sensor paired with two 12-megapixel modules, but nothing about that configuration is official.

Flat screen, uniform bezels: the FE knows its place

The video suggests a completely flat panel with a small centred hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera. Rumours have converged for weeks on a 6.7-inch diagonal running at 120 Hz.

One detail is worth highlighting: the bezels are visible and uniform on all four sides. That is precisely what separates a Fan Edition from a top-tier flagship, where the borders are shaved down as much as possible. Samsung is not trying to disguise the product’s positioning, which is rather healthy.

Under the hood: Exynos 2500 and One UI 9.0 expected

The video says nothing about internal components, of course. The accumulated leaks, however, paint a coherent picture. The Galaxy S26 FE would run Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2500 chip, the same silicon already found in several recent Galaxy models. A logical choice for a device whose entire purpose is to deliver a near-flagship experience at a more contained price.

On the software side, the phone would ship with One UI 9.0 based on Android 17 straight out of the box. That is an underrated argument: buying a device that already runs the latest interface means gaining a full generation on the update calendar.

Leaks also mention better battery life than the Galaxy S25 FE. For reference, the 2025 model packs a 4,900 mAh battery with 45 W fast charging, in a 7.4 mm chassis weighing 190 grams. No official figure has leaked for the S26 FE: it is better to wait for the announcement than to rely on unverifiable estimates.

Three colours according to the leaks

Beyond the Blueberry shown in the video, leaks mention two more shades at launch:

• Blueberry — a deep, highly glossy blue, apparently the colour Samsung intends to push.
• Pistachio — a light green, in line with the pastel tones the brand favours on its mid-to-high range.
• Graphite — the classic charcoal grey, a safe pick for professional use.

These names remain unofficial until Samsung publishes its product sheet.

Why this leak changes little (and why it still matters)

Let us be honest: an unboxing that lands a few days early does not shake the market. Samsung smartphone leaks have become so systematic that the official launch often amounts to a confirmation. That regularity does raise a genuine question about industrial control, when retail units circulate before the announcement.

The leak is still useful to you if you are considering a purchase. It confirms that Samsung is not preparing a design break for this generation: anyone who owns an S25 FE will not see their device look outdated. Conversely, if you are coming from an older model, the raised camera block and flat rails represent a real aesthetic jump.

It also has a very concrete impact on prices. A new Fan Edition mechanically drags down the outgoing model’s price. The Galaxy S25 FE therefore becomes an option worth watching closely in the days following 27 August, especially since its specifications will remain very close to those of its successor.

What remains to be discovered on 27 August

Three major unknowns remain, and they are precisely the ones that will decide the device’s commercial fate.

The price. This is the crux of the matter. The Fan Edition positioning only makes sense if the gap with the flagship stays substantial. A badly calibrated launch price would leave the S26 FE crushed by promotions on the tier above.

The length of software support. Samsung has stood out in recent years with very long update commitments on its flagships. Whether the Fan Edition receives the same treatment, or a slightly reduced policy, remains to be seen.

Availability. Fan Edition models do not always land simultaneously across every market. Dates and memory configurations offered in Europe will need confirmation at the announcement.

Should you wait for the Galaxy S26 FE?

If you are looking for a versatile upper-mid-range Android phone, waiting until 27 August is far from absurd: in a week you will know the official price and you will be able to compare calmly with a then-discounted Galaxy S25 FE. Either way, you come out ahead.

If, on the other hand, you already own a previous-generation Fan Edition, nothing in this leak justifies an immediate upgrade. The announced changes are refinements, not a revolution.

One last caveat: everything above comes from an unverified video and consistent leaks, not from official communication. The final design, specifications and colours will only be confirmed by Samsung on 27 August.
