Apple plans to release three new iPads in the first half of 2027, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. In his Power On newsletter of November 1, 2026, picked up by MacRumors, he points to an OLED iPad Air, an iPad Pro with improved cooling and an entry-level model. Treat these iPad 2027 rumors with care: Apple has confirmed nothing.
The three iPads expected early in 2027

- iPad Air: moving to an OLED display, per Gurman. MacRumors presumes the M5 chip, but that is its own inference, not a reported detail.
- iPad Pro: Gurman expects a vapor chamber for better sustained performance. MacRumors presumes an M6 chip, again as an inference.
- Entry-level iPad (called “iPad 12” by MacRumors): an A19 chip, enabling Apple Intelligence.
No specific month is given, only the first-half-of-2027 window.
What we know about the entry-level model
Details on this model come from an earlier MacRumors report dated September 25, 2026, not from Gurman’s newsletter. It mentions the A19 chip, an N1 chip with Wi-Fi 7, and Apple’s C1X modem in cellular versions. As with the rest, none of it is confirmed.
A busy period for tablets

The rumors follow Apple’s October 2026 announcement of a new iPad mini with an 8.5-inch OLED display. According to MacRumors’ product calendar, it launches November 6 with an A20 Pro chip and IP67 resistance. The iPad lineup looks set for a broad refresh over a few months.
What it means for you
If you are weighing a new iPad Air or iPad Pro, these rumors call for some patience: new models are said to be coming by summer 2027. If you need a tablet now, a rumor alone is no reason to wait. Dates and specs may still change.
