After updating TikTok app a few days ago, the latter started acting weird, what do i do?

TikTok has been one of the most fascinating social media since more than a year now, and just like every other application worldwide, it has its own flaws. This time, due to the app update, we noticed that it started operating in a peculiar manner.

Actually, due to an update carried out on July 1st, 2021, we neither can subscribe, nor like or share videos.

We applied the following measures when we noticed this problem in order to ensure that the problem is not our back end.

  • Verify the state of the internet connection. Most often, internet connection problems creates instability of other applications, if faced with this problem, try to have a stable connection and reduce the number of applications currently using internet connection in order to function. As for me I am using Wi-Fi and the connection is quite stable on my phone and other connected devices;
  • Verify that the phone’s RAM isn’t overloaded. If that’s the case, delete backgrounds applications, close TikTok and restart the application.
  • In a case where it’s neither of the above, please restart your smartphone.

UPDATE TIKTOK TO SOLVE THE LIKING AND SUBSCRIPTION PROBLEM

If despite everything this problem persists, you need to carry out an app update. Currently, TikTok brought up an update to solve this problem. So, for those unable to like videos on TikTok, proceed with your app update.

 After updating our TikTok application, everything has started functioning normally; we can finally like videos and subscribe to accounts on TikTok as you can see in the videos below.

If the problem persists, proceed with the following steps;

Clear TikTok cache

There is a very simple way of clearing TikTok cache without wasting time going through settings just to end up making mistakes. TikTok permits its different users to clear cache easily directly on the app, to do this;

Method 1

  • Open the application
  • Click on Me
  • After that, go to the three dots lined up at the extreme end by your right.
  • You will see ‘clear cache’ click on it.

Method 2

  • Go to phone settings
  • And then to applications
  • Select TikTok and empty memory cache; do not mistake with delete files.

Disconnect and reconnect

Sometimes when an application does not respond, you just have to disconnect and reconnect for it to function again. After going off line, before reconnecting, go to the applications deleted cache while passing through phone settings as shown in method 2.

Uninstall and reinstall TikTok

If all efforts prove futile, you have just one option left; uninstall TikTok.

NOTE; I didn’t say you should put a cross on this fabulous application. After uninstalling the application, go to settings and empty the device cache. Thereafter, restart the phone and install TikTok making sure you download the latest version.

How to signal a problem on TikTok

TikTok has a guide on how to solve problems related to the use of the application, to benefit from this, see you at the ‘signal a problem’ section.

In the last problem resolution section, chose ‘Do you need more help?’

I tried to contact the technical service of the application to no avail. But as we all have different lucky days, you may perhaps have more luck.
