Last December, Xiaomi announced the Redmi K60 series, which generated a great deal of excitement among smartphone fans. Comprising the Redmi K60, Redmi K60E and Redmi K60 Pro models, the series was recently expanded to include a fourth member, the Redmi K60 Ultra.
The Redmi K60 Ultra is equipped with the powerful Dimensity 9200+ SoC, runs MIUI 14 and offers up to 24 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Its 6.67-inch, 12-bit display boasts 1.5K resolution (2,712 x 1,220 pixels) and impresses with a maximum brightness of 2,600 nits, as well as PWM dimming of 2,880 Hz.
To keep all these features running, Xiaomi has equipped the Redmi K60 Ultra with a 5,000 mAh battery with a claimed battery life of 1.32 days and 100% fast charging in just 19 minutes using the supplied 120W charger. To optimise fast charging, Xiaomi has developed the P1 chip and used the G1 chip for battery management.
Display and screen
The Redmi K60 Ultra’s display also boasts a high refresh rate of 144Hz, delivering a smooth visual experience, and a 480Hz touch sampling rate for enhanced responsiveness. Xiaomi has included an independent graphics chip called X7, developed in collaboration with Pixelworks, which enables the smartphone to natively achieve a frame rate of 144 FPS in 30 games (over 100 with frame interpolation). This chip also helps to improve the clarity of games.
Although Xiaomi has not specified whether the display is LCD or OLED, the presence of an integrated fingerprint reader indicates that it is likely to be OLED technology. The display supports DCI-P3 coverage and features Dolby Vision and HDR10+ content for an immersive viewing experience.
As far as photography is concerned, the Redmi K60 Ultra features a camera island at the rear, with a 54 MP Sony IMX800 main sensor (50 MP effective) with optical image stabilization (OIS), 8K HDR10+ recording and two other sensors, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle and a 2 MP macro. For selfies and video calls, a 20 MP front-facing camera is also available.
The Redmi K60 Ultra is undoubtedly an exciting addition to Xiaomi’s Redmi K60 series. With its high-end specifications and advanced features, it promises an exceptional user experience.
