Tecno Camon 20, 20 Pro and 20 Pro 5G comparison: impressive performance for any budget

Tecno, the global smartphone manufacturer, has released its latest series of devices, the Camon 20 series. The group consists of three models, the Camon 20, the Camon 20 Pro, and the Camon 20 Pro 5G. Each of these phones comes with a design that is similar to each other, including an unusual rear camera island and a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with 120Hz capabilities.

Performance of Tecno Camon 20, 20 Pro and 20 Pro 5G

One of the most impressive features of the Camon 20 Pro 5G is its use of the Dimensity 8050 6nm chipset from MediaTek, which was rebadged from the popular Dimensity 1300 chipset from last year. The Camon 20 Pro, on the other hand, uses the Helio G99 6nm SoC, while the standard Camon 20 model comes with the Helio G85 12nm chip. All three models feature an 8GB RAM, and provide 256GB storage.

Cameras and autonomy

In terms of camera, the Camon 20 Pro, Camon 20 Pro 5G, and Camon 20 all come with a 64MP primary camera and a 2MP macro shooter. However, the Camon 20 Pro 5G has the advantage of an OIS (optical image stabilization) on its primary lens and a 2MP depth sensor, while the other two models have a QVGA module behind their third lens. All three models feature a 32MP selfie camera, with a 33W fast charging support for the 5000mAh battery. Included with an IP53 certification, all three models are dust and waterproof.

Availability and pricing of the Camon 20, Camon 20 Pro and Camon 20 Pro 5G

The Camon 20 Pro and Camon 20 Pro 5G are equipped with an optical under-screen fingerprint scanner, while the Camon 20 standard features a side scanner. All three phones use Android 13 with the Tecno HIOS 13 user-interfaces. The Tecno Camon 20 is available in Serenity Black, Serenity Blue, and Ice Crystal White versions, while the Pro models come in Serenity Blue and Dark Welkin Black. The Camon 20 Pro 5G is already available in Nigeria, costing around $300, while the availability and cost of the Camon 20 in other regions will be confirmed soon.

Overall, the Camon 20 series is an excellent choice for users looking for affordable smartphones that offer high performance and high-quality cameras. The models differ only in terms of the processors, rear camera modules, and fingerprint scanners. Therefore, users should consider their budget and the phone’s intended use when choosing between the Camon 20, Camon 20 Pro, and Camon 20 Pro 5G, all while benefiting from a complete package that includes the latest features and specifications.
