A new benchmark leak on Chinese social network Weibo has uncovered new information about Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The leak comes from a reliable source, Digital Chat Station, renowned for its accurate and regular information. The Geekbench 5 score for the RedMagic 9, with model number Nubix NX769J, has been revealed, showing a multiple score of 5977 and a single score of 1596.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip is nicknamed “Pineapple”


The codename of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, nicknamed “Pineapple”, has been revealed in this benchmark. According to many rumours, this is the codename used internally by Qualcomm. The details of the benchmark indicate that the chip would have a main core clocked at 3.19 GHz, five intermediate cores at 2.96 GHz and two cores at 2.27 GHz. Digital Chat Station also confirms that this configuration would include a Cortex X4, five Cortex-A720s and two Cortex-A520s, with an Adreno 750 GPU.

Interestingly, this leak confirms information from an earlier leak in February, which claimed that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 would outperform Apple’s A16 Bionic processor. Both leaks mention the processor’s 1+5+2 configuration scheme.


The device used for the benchmark runs Android 14, indicating that the RedMagic 9 Pro could be one of the first smartphones to use the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip before the end of 2023. This anticipation is possible thanks to the early launch of the chipset, which is expected to hit the market earlier than its predecessor last year.
