Fandango is the video-on-demand service that spent years under the name Vudu. Fandango bought it from Walmart in 2020, renamed it Fandango at Home in 2024 and dropped the “at Home” in July 2026. The Android app is the same one Vudu users installed, updated under the new name.
What Fandango is for
You can rent or buy films and TV series, recent releases included, without a subscription. Part of the catalogue is free to watch with ad breaks. Purchases go into a digital library you can reach on most devices, and some titles can be downloaded to watch offline. A kids mode uses Common Sense Media ratings and comes with parental controls, and the app also carries trailers, Rotten Tomatoes scores and a link to Fandango’s cinema ticketing.
Who is it for?
Fandango is meant for people living in the United States. From France or Italy, the website shows a message saying streaming isn’t available in your region, and the app isn’t listed on the French App Store. In Europe, Rakuten TV, Apple TV and Google TV work on the same rent-or-buy model.
Download Fandango safely
The official app is published by Fandango Media on the Google Play Store and by VUDU, Inc. on the US App Store. The service is also available on the web at athome.fandango.com. You need an account to rent or buy, and it only works inside the US.
