Galaxy tab A9 vs Galaxy tab S9

Samsung‘s Galaxy tablet line is one of the most popular on the market. Moreover, the manufacturer recently launched two new models on the market: the Galaxy Tab A9 and the Galaxy Tab S9. Conception and design

Both the Galaxy Tab A9 and Galaxy Tab S9 share a sleek, modern and ergonomic design, with high-quality finishes and aesthetic options to suit different styles. The Galaxy Tab A9 is available in three colors: Graphite, Silver and Navy; while the Galaxy Tab S9 is available in two colors: beige and graphite.

However, the Galaxy Tab S9 is larger and lighter than the Galaxy Tab A9, with dimensions of 254.3 x 165.8 x 5.9 mm and a weight of 498 g, while the Galaxy Tab A9 measures 211 x 124.7 x 8 mm and weighs 332 g. making the Galaxy Tab A9 more comfortable to carry and handle.

Screen

The Galaxy Tab A9’s screen is 8.7 inches and uses TFT LCD technology with a resolution of 800 x 1340 pixels. This makes for a crisp and immersive visual experience, although the technology isn’t as advanced as that of the Galaxy Tab S9.

Indeed, the Galaxy Tab S9’s screen is larger, 11 inches, and uses 2X dynamic AMOLED technology with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and HDR10+ compatibility. This provides an even more immersive and smoother viewing experience, with a resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass protection for added durability. The Tab S9 is therefore ideal for watching movies, videos and playing games.

Cameras

The Galaxy Tab A9 is equipped with an 8 MP main camera, capable of recording 1080p videos at 30 fps, as well as a 2 MP selfie camera. On the other hand, the Galaxy Tab S9 is equipped with a 13 MP main camera, capable of recording videos in 4K at 30 fps and 1080p at 30 fps, as well as a 12 MP selfie camera. Both cameras feature autofocus

The Galaxy Tab S9 has more advanced photography capabilities with higher resolution, as well as the ability to record better videos. It then offers superior performance in photography and videoconferencing.

Performance

Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab A9 and Tab S9 are equipped with Android 13 operating system with 5.1 user interface, providing a smooth and intuitive software experience.

The Tab A9 is powered by the Mediatek MT8781V/CA Helio G99 (6nm) chipset paired with the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. On the other hand, the Galaxy Tab S9 is powered by the Qualcomm SM8550-AC Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (4nm) chipset and Adreno 740 GPU.

The Galaxy Tab S9 chipset is logically more advanced because with 4nm engraving, it consumes less energy and heats up less. In addition it contains more transistors and these transistors are faster. Which makes the Tab S9 more efficient for web browsing, multitasking and gaming.

Both tablets are available in two variants: for the Galaxy Tab A9, 64 GB of storage with 4 GB of RAM, or 128 GB of storage with 8 GB of RAM; for the Galaxy Tab S9, 128 GB of storage with 8 GB of RAM, or 256 GB of storage with 12 GB of RAM, all with the possibility of expansion via a microSDXC card, thus providing better space options for storing files, applications and media.

Power and Autonomy:

The Galaxy Tab A9 is equipped with a non-removable 5100 mAh Li-Po battery. It supports 15W wired fast charging. For its part, the Galaxy Tab S9 is equipped with a non-removable Li-Po 8400 mAh battery and therefore more powerful than that of the Tab A9.

If we add that the processor of the Galaxy Tab S9 consumes less energy, there is no doubt that it offers longer battery life. In addition, with its 45W wired fast charging, the Galaxy Tab S9 will certainly replenish its battery 3 times faster than the Tab A9.

Price and availability

The Galaxy Tab A9 has been available since October 5, 2023 at a price of around 180 euros. As for the Galaxy Tab S9, it is a high-end tablet available since August 11, 2023 at a price of around 736 euros. The Galaxy Tab A9 is a more affordable option compared to the Galaxy Tab S9, making it more accessible to a wider audience.

The best between Galaxy tab A9 and Galaxy tab S9

The Galaxy Tab A9 is much less expensive than the Galaxy Tab S9. It is therefore a more attractive choice for consumers looking for a high-performance tablet at a reasonable price. However, it’s important to note that this price difference between the two tablets also reflects differences in performance and features. And on these points, the Galaxy Tab S9 is far ahead.
