Difficulties in receiving SMS on your Pixel 7 or 7 Pro usually have several causes: either the problem comes from your SIM, or from a bad configuration of the APN, or from the Google Messages application. In general the following solutions will fix this problem:

Upgrade your SIM card. You can also contact the customer service of your mobile operator to reconfigure your SIM card.

Pixel 7 and Pro lock screen media control display problem

When this problem occurs on the Pixel 7 or 7 Pro, we notice that the multimedia controls are visible on the notification panel rather than on the lock screen. This is due to the Face Unlock feature that Google has integrated into the Pixel 7 and its Pro version. Therefore, you just need to disable this feature as follows:

  • Open the phone’s Settings
  • Search and go to Security
  • Tap on Fingerprints and facial recognition
  • Disable the Ignore lock screen option

The fingerprint reader does not work properly on the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro

Fingerprint reading malfunctions may be due to the screen protectors you use on your Pixel, or to the degraded performance of its fingerprint sensor. You can remedy this as follows:

Re-register your fingerprint by accessing Fingerprint Unlock in the security settings of your 7 or 7 Pro.

Get a Google Certified Screen Protector

It’s also important to note that Google is working on an update to address this issue.

Difficulties transferring files from a PC to the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro

Generally the difficulties in transferring files from a computer to the Google Pixel 7 or Pro may be due to the USB 2.0 port (both phone models are only compatible with USB 3.0). Another origin may be that your Pixel has not enabled the file transfer setting. You should therefore :

Get a USB hub in case your PC does not have a USB 3.0 port
