Solving common Echo Auto problems

Are you one of the many Amazon Echo Auto owners who have experienced technical problems? Don’t panic, we’re here to help you solve these common problems.

Solutions to common Echo Auto problems

Firstly, if your Echo Auto can’t connect to your car’s Bluetooth, check that Bluetooth is enabled on both your phone and your Echo Auto. If the problem persists, try deactivating and reactivating Bluetooth on both devices.

Secondly, if you’re having trouble controlling your Echo Auto, make sure your car has a compatible USB port and that it’s in good working order. Try using another USB port if possible and make sure your USB cable is working. You can also try resetting the Echo Auto by pressing the reset button.

Thirdly, if Alexa can’t understand your voice commands, check that the built-in microphones aren’t obstructed or damaged. You may also want to consider the possibility that a lot of ambient noise may be interfering with the Echo Auto. So try to analyse the level of outside noise and make sure that the volume of your Echo Auto’s connection is loud enough.

Bluetooth connectivity problems

If you’re experiencing Bluetooth connectivity issues with your Echo Auto, here are the steps you can take to resolve them. Between each step, make sure your Echo Auto is connected to your phone.

  1. First, close and relaunch the Alexa application. If you have a first-generation Echo Auto, disconnect its micro-USB power cable, wait 30 seconds, then reconnect it.
  2. If you are using an Android phone, activate Airplane mode, wait 45 seconds, then deactivate it. If you have an iPhone, deactivate and then reactivate Bluetooth on your phone and restart it.
  3. In the Alexa application, go to your Echo Auto settings and forget the device. Then check your phone’s Bluetooth settings to see if the Echo Auto is connected. If so, cancel the pairing or forget connection, unplug the micro-USB power cable from the Echo Auto for 45 seconds, then plug it back in. Go back to the Alexa application and redo the configuration.
  4. If the problem persists, you can reset the Echo Auto to factory settings and complete the configuration in the Alexa application.

If you’re having trouble with your Echo Auto or want to restore it to its original settings, do the following:

  • Press the Mute button, then hold down the Action button for 15 seconds until Alexa announces that the device is being reset. Wait for the light bar to flash orange, then finish configuring the device.
  • You also need to end pairing or forget the Bluetooth connection to your Echo Auto from your phone settings.
  • To do this, go to the Bluetooth settings on your mobile device and select your Echo Auto.
  • Then choose End pairing (for Android) or Forget device (for iOS).
  • Finally, remove your Echo Auto from the Alexa app by going to Settings > Devices > All Devices. If you see your Echo Auto, select it and click on Forget device.

How to fix an Echo Auto that won’t play Spotify

In general, Spotify works very well with devices in the Amazon ecosystem, but it can sometimes malfunction. If when you start your car you want to play music on Spotify using your Echo Auto but it doesn’t work, the above solutions are the best way to resolve this annoying situation. If these solutions don’t work, it’s usually because the problem isn’t with your device. In this case, we advise you to switch to another compatible streaming platform such as Amazon Music, Apple Music or Deezer while you wait for the problem to be resolved.

If the above solutions don’t solve your problems, try contacting Amazon customer service directly for further assistance. With a little patience and determination, you’ll be able to enjoy the full potential of your Echo Auto without interruption.
