Samsung Galaxy Book4 Comparison: Ultra, Pro, and Pro 360

Samsung unveils its new Galaxy Book4 series of laptops, an impressive range that incorporates cutting-edge features and increased processing power. Let’s take a look at how the three flagship models in the series compare: Galaxy Book4 Ultra, Pro, and Pro 360.

Screen and Design:

The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Ultra boasts a 16-inch AMOLED 2X display with 2880 x 1800 px resolution (16:10), a variable refresh rate from 48 to 120 Hz and 120% DCI-P3 coverage. For its part, the Galaxy Book4 Pro is available in two screen sizes: a 14-inch version and a larger 16-inch version. These screens have resolutions of 2880 x 1800 px, and like the Ultra model benefit from a variable 48-120 Hz refresh rate, and 120% DCI-P3 coverage. The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360, meanwhile, has a 16-inch screen similar to the Pro models, but as the name suggests, it has a 360° swivel hinge for use in tablet mode.

Processing power:

Moving on to performance, the Galaxy Book4 Ultra computer is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor with Nvidia RTX 4070 graphics with 8GB capacity. While the Galaxy Book4 Pro model will come in Intel Core Ultra 7 or Ultra 5 configurations, paired respectively with Intel Arc or Nvidia RTX 4050 graphics with 6GB capacity. And the latest Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 model will have similar options to the Pro model, but with swivel hinges.

The integration of AI in noise cancellation, a studio-quality microphone array, and new features such as Photo Remaster and Samsung Studio are further developed on the Galaxy Book4 Pro.

Memory and Storage:

All Galaxy Book4 Ultra, Pro and Pro 360 models will come with options ranging from 16GB to 64GB of LPDDR5X RAM, with a choice of internal SSD storage from 256GB to 2TB. To be more precise, the Book4 Ultra will be sold in 16/64GB and 512GB, 1TB or 2TB storage configurations. The Book4 Pro will be sold in 16/32GB and 256GB to 1TB options, and the Book4 Pro 360 in 16/32GB and 512GB/1TB configurations. It’s important to note that there will be an expansion slot available for additional storage on the Book4 Pro and Ultra models, but not on the Book4 Pro 360, which stops at 32GB and 1TB.

Quick Charge and Battery:

While the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Ultra will come with a 140W adapter, capable of boosting its battery from 76 Wh to 55% in 30 minutes, the Galaxy Book4 Pro will have to make do with a 65W charger, but depending on the variant you’ll receive a 63 Wh (14-inch) or 76 Wh (16-inch) battery. Finally, the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 will also receive a 65W USB-C adapter compatible with the 76Wh battery.

Connectivity and ports :

All models in the Galaxy Book4 range have HDMI 2.1 ports supporting 8K resolution at 60 fps and 5K at 120 fps. There’s also a pair of Thunderbolt 4 ports and a USB Type A port for those of you who still have such peripherals. You’ll also find Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

Availability:

Launching in South Korea in January 2024, followed by a global rollout.

The Galaxy Book4 series gives users a variety of choices, from the ultra-powerful Galaxy Book4 Ultra to the versatile Galaxy Book4 Pro and the convertible Galaxy Book4 Pro 360. Each of these models offers a unique combination of performance, exceptional screens and technological innovations, adapting to the varied needs of modern users. Stay tuned for pricing announcements and other details as the Galaxy Book4 series prepares to conquer the global market.
