The Xiaomi Wireless AR Glass as they are called are a pair of wireless smart glasses. They link to your phone or any other device and offer an immersive AR experience without wires and dongles. Xiaomi’s AR glasses have no built-in storage so they need to be connected to a host device to work.
The glasses have two Micro OLED screens with a clear guiding prism module that produces content to your eyes. They have a maximum brightness of up to 1200 nits per eye. Xiaomi has also incorporated three camera modules that are used to map the user’s surrounding world.
AR Glass has electrochromic lenses with immersed mode for full immersion in virtual space and a transparent mode for that allows the user to see objects in their environment. The helmet has a magnesium and lithium alloy structure with carbon fiber elements and weighs 126 grams.
Like the Meta Quest Pro, Xiaomi Wireless AR Glass features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 1 platform and support the Snapdragon Spaces XR developer platform. Xiaomi has also developed its own AR Gesture controls with spatial sensing for precise commands and operation.
Latency on the headset is as low as 50ms with a paired smartphone which Xiaomi claims is on par with the latency you would expect from a traditional cable-hung AR/VR headset.
