A week after the disclosure of the iPhone 15 Pro renders, we now have our first look at the iPhone 15 vanilla model. Based on the CAD shared by our 9to5Mac brethren, these renders depict two major changes from the base variant of the iPhone 14 series.

Design change of the iPhone 15

The images give us a glimpse of a 6.2-inch screen with a pill-shaped cutout – Dynamic Island – to replace the famous notch. As a reminder in the 14 series, only the Pro models offer this pill-shaped screen. The screen size also changes, even if it is only one inch. The iPhone 14 has a diagonal of 6.1 inches.

In addition to the appearance of the Dynamic Island, the second notable change from previous iPhones is the USB-C connector at the bottom of the device, which will replace the lightning port that is bidding us farewell. The left side will still house the mute switch and volume controls.

The new indicates that it will probably be physical buttons instead of the capacitive buttons previously pressed. The back will still house a dual-camera setup with diagonally placed sensors. We’re still a long way from the iPhone 14 launch date, but it has to be said, leaks will become more and more frequent as Apple’s announcement approaches.
