The Honor Win2 goes on sale in China on October 21, and Honor has already shown most of the spec sheet. This gaming-focused phone relies on a flat 2K display running at 185Hz, an active cooling fan and a battery rumored to exceed 10,000mAh. A prototype has also just posted more than 5.7 million points on AnTuTu.

Honor is pushing a flat 2K screen with a 185Hz refresh rate and very thin bezels, and presents the panel as a world first for that combination. The sources we checked do not give the screen size. Fonearena describes an OLED panel branded “dual-core Oasis”.

A fan to hold up under load

As on other gaming phones, the Win2 packs an active fan meant to push heat out during long sessions. Honor describes an improved version of its cooling system. In China, an official campaign promises six years of free fan cleaning and maintenance, with no cap on the number of visits, for units bought and activated between October 12 and November 22.

The AnTuTu result

A prototype listed as BRM-AN00 scored 5,702,964 points on AnTuTu v12. The breakdown: 1,502,737 for the CPU, 2,072,221 for graphics, 755,729 for memory and 1,372,277 for user experience. The listing also mentions LPDDR5X memory, UFS 4.1 storage and the 185Hz screen. GSMArena says the score is no surprise given the chip and the active cooling. Keep in mind that this is a prototype and a synthetic benchmark.

A Geekbench listing points to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 inside the Win2. A second model, the Win RT2, is reportedly set to keep the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, according to unofficial information that still needs confirming at the launch event. Honor has also mentioned a third device, the Win Turbo2.

On battery, Fonearena lists 10,100mAh. The Win2 is said to come in three colors and five configurations: 12GB or 16GB of RAM with 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of storage. A post-subsidy price of 5,499 yuan, around $821, has been reported. Pre-orders have already opened in China.

The same Snapdragon chip is at the center of a dispute: on October 17, Qualcomm rejected reports of overheating. The Honor Win2 and its fan should therefore offer an early look at how the chip behaves under sustained load once independent reviews arrive. The launch event starts at 2:30 p.m. China time on October 21. Tell us in the comments whether a gaming phone with a fan appeals to you.
