Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro: Specs and price leaks revealed

Excitement is building as Google’s next Pixel 8 duo are set to be announced on October 4. With leaked images already giving us a glimpse of what the phones will look like, recent reports suggest a potential price increase in mainland Europe. Today, alleged prices for the phones in the UK and US have surfaced in line with key specifications for both models.

According to the leak, the Pixel 8 will start at £699 / $699 and will come with 8GB of RAM. On the other hand, the Pixel 8 Pro is said to be priced at £999 in the UK, but just $899 in the US, with a new OLED LTPO display. The much-anticipated Pixel Watch 2 is said to cost £349.

Although the base Pixel 8 appears to be a modest upgrade on its predecessor, it still retains the same camera setup. The real transformation should come from the Tensor G3 chipset, promising improved processing power. Both smartphones will also feature a redesigned front camera sensor.

In terms of camera improvements, the Pixel 8 Pro is expected to introduce a new 48MP ultra-wide camera, replacing the 12MP sensor found in the Pixel 7 Pro. Interestingly, this feature will remain exclusive to the Pro model. The colour of the Pixel 8 series hero will be the striking blue seen in several promotional materials, and the third camera lens will be integrated into an oval design alongside the other two shooters.

As the launch date approaches, Google fans are eagerly awaiting the official announcement to confirm these leaked details. From enhanced processing capabilities to improved camera systems, the Pixel 8 series aims to deliver an impressive smartphone experience for users.

Stay tuned for the official unveiling on October 4, where Google will provide full details on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, including availability and additional features.
