Garmin Vivoactive 5: a slimmer design and an AMOLED screen
The design of the Garmin Vivoactive 5 could probably not undergo any radical change. It will be close to its predecessor, the Vivoactive 4. The latter is an imposing watch, equipped with a Silicon bracelet and measuring 4.5 x 4.5 x 1.28 cm for a weight of 50 g. its polymer case is associated with a stainless steel bezel. The right edge has two buttons and at the back is housed a heart rate monitor.
The future Garmin watch will certainly be designed with more finesse. We can therefore think of dimensions and weight slightly lower than that of the Vivoactive 4. In addition, the Vivoactive 5 could be waterproof up to 5 ATM like its predecessor. The new watch would therefore be lighter and more comfortable to wear.
Regarding the type of screen that the Vivoactive 5 could wear, rumors say that Garmin would opt for an AMOLED screen. Good news for the brightness. However, this could negatively affect the battery life.
Vivoactive 5: synchronization with the application Garmin Connect
Like its predecessor, the Vivoactive 5 will certainly sync with the Garmin Connect app, available on iOS and Android. Unless Garmin decides to change its habits on this point. The Garmin Connect application has the reputation of being of very good quality, clear and complete. It offers the user the possibility to configure his watch.
With Garmin Connect, complete reports of physical activities are provided to the user and training programs are offered.
Garmin Vivoactive 5 : new features
The Garmin Vivoactive 5 will certainly carry over the health and sports monitoring features of the Vivoactive 4 with some improvements. We will certainly not be surprised to see features such as body battery energy monitoring to judge when it is best to rest or be active, blood oxygen level monitoring, and stress monitoring, among others.
Most likely new features will be added : body temperature, blood pressure or an ECG application.
There are also rumors that Garmin could follow the trend of some of its competitors like Samsung, Apple and Fossil by integrating LTE in the Vivoactive 5. The watch could then receive calls and messages even without your phone.
Other information that is filtering through also talks about Garmin including a voice assistant in the Vivoactive 5. The manufacturer would be on the way to reach an agreement with Amazon to integrate Alexa.
Autonomy of the Garmin Vivoactive 5
It is logical to think that the Vivoactive 5 offers a battery life greater than or equal to the Vivoactive 4. The latter can operate for at least 4 days in intense use. In normal use this autonomy can go up to 7 days. Note that the watch is fully charged in less than an hour.
