Notification Icons Not Showing

This is one of the oldest problems with Xiaomi phones; oddly the company has failed to fix it for years.

The notifications problem seems completely solved though on MIUI 11, but if you still don’t see the notification icons, here’s how to easily activate them:

     Open Settings.

     Open the “display” option.

     Select “Notch and Status Bar”.

In the Status Bar section, enable “Show icons for incoming notifications”.

Call recording option is missing

This is not really a problem. Due to certain privacy policies in different regions and in accordance with Google’s privacy policy, Xiaomi cannot allow call recording on its phones. This option is not allowed in Europe and various other parts of the world.

So, if you really want this option, you have to JailBreak the phone in order to get Root permission. But this is dangerous because it can irreparably damage your phone.

Battery Drain Problems

Several factors can affect battery life, but when it comes to devices that have the MIUI system, our first suspect is a lack of ROM optimization.

Newer updates are usually enough to fix this problem.

So, first of all, make sure your Xiaomi is updated when it comes to firmware (phone update). If so, implement the measures below:

Turn off Wi-Fi and mobile data overnight.

     Disable Face Unlock.

Disable autostart of unused apps. Go to Settings > Apps > Manage apps and turn off autostart on apps individually.

Make sure to use manual brightness settings, it will save you a lot of battery.

Google Assistant Not Working

The Google Assistant not working on Xiaomi is manifested by the Voice Match feature button appearing grayed out inactive for some users.

This problem is very common on phones running MUI 10 and 11. So far Xiaomi has not provided any solution to fix it.

There are some things you can try to fix this problem, but as we said before, this is a widespread problem on all its phones and until Xiaomi’s Skin OS is released. available, we use the workarounds below.

Follow these steps to try to fix the Google Assistant not working issue on your Xiaomi:

Go to Settings > Apps > Manage Apps > Google and clear cache and data.

Exit the Google Beta program from the Play Store.

Uninstall Google updates and restart your device.

Go back to Settings > Apps > Manage Apps. Tap the 3-dot menu and open default apps. From there, open Assistance and voice typing. Under the “Assist” app, select Google.

Delete and retrain the Voice model.

Here is how to wipe cache partition on Xiaomi and fix some issues:

Turn off your device.

Press and hold Power button + Volume Up button until MI home screen appears. Release the Power button and press and hold the Volume Up button.

Once you are in recovery mode, use volume buttons to navigate to “Wipe Cache Partition” option. Press the power button to confirm the selection.

And Here’s How to Factory Reset Your Device:

Back up all important data to Google Drive, your PC or external storage.

     Open Settings.

     Choose My device.

     Open Backup & reset.

Choose Erase all data (factory reset).
