The Huawei P60 Pro has just been made official. It is one of Huawei’s flagship products that comes with improvements on several levels and intends to compete with the best phones of this year 2023 among which is the Galaxy S23 Ultra. In this comparison guide, we pitch the Huawei P60 Pro against the Galaxy S23 Ultra to determine the best of the two.

Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra measures 163.4 x 78.1 x 8.9 mm with a weight of 234 g. Its design includes a Gorilla Glass Victus 2-coated front and back panel as well as an aluminum frame.
The aluminum frame of the Galaxy S23 Ultra acts as an armor to offer more resistance to drops and scratches. Samsung’s device comes with an S Pen integrated into the phone’s chassis. This stylus makes it easy to take notes or do photo editing.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra is available in green, black, lavender, cream, red, sky blue, graphite and lime colors (the last 4 colors are produced exclusively online). As for Huawei’s smartphone, it measures 161 x 74.5 x 8.3 mm and weighs 200 g. It comes in black, emerald green, purple and white colors.
With an IP68 certification, the Huawei P60 Pro just like the Galaxy S23 Ultra is waterproof, offering resistance to dust and water (up to 1.5 m for 30 min). The Galaxy S23 Ultra is slightly longer, wider, thicker and heavier than the Huawei P60 Pro.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. This HDR10+ display boasts a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a resolution of 3,088 x 1,440 pixels at 500 dpi as well as a maximum brightness of 1,750 nits. The Samsung phone’s display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and supports Always-on display functionality.
The Huawei P60 Pro features a 6.67-inch display that is based on LTPO OLED technology. This display has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a resolution of 2,700 x 1,220 pixels at 444 dpi. Kunlun Glass protects the screen on Huwei’s phone.
Both phones offer a smooth display. However, the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s screen is larger than its rival’s and offers a better resolution. So, in terms of display, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is better than the Huawei P60 Pro.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor paired with an Adreno 740 GPU. This chipset is backed by up to 12GB of RAM coupled with up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. It supports 5G and runs on Android 13 with the One UI 5.1 interface.
Huawei’s new phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset coupled with an Adreno 730 GPU and comes in 8GB RAM / 256GB and 12GB RAM / 512GB models. The Huawei P60 Pro is powered by a HarmonyOS 3.1 (in China) or EMUI (in Europe) operating system. It is limited to 4G and unfortunately does not support Google services. (Like the Playstore)
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 of the S23 Ultra is more powerful than the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 of the Huawei P60 Pro. Even if the two phones are equivalent in terms of RAM, the Galaxy S23 Ultra has a more considerable internal storage. It is therefore more powerful than its rival, the Huawei P60 Pro.
Huawei’s phone has a 48 MP main camera (wide-angle sensor), a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 48 MP telephoto lens on the back. It has a 13 MP front camera for selfies.
On its side, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has on its rear panel, a main camera of 200 MP (wide-angle sensor), an ultra-wide angle camera of 12 MP and two telephoto lenses of 10 MP each. Its front panel shelters a 12 MP front camera.
The Huawei P60 Pro, has not yet been tested by DXOMARK experts. However, its predecessor, the Huawei P50 Pro is better than the Galaxy S23 Ultra in terms of camera.
In fact, at the time of writing this article, the Huawei P50 Pro is in 7th place on DXOMARK with a score of 143 points. It is therefore better rated than the S23 Ultra, which occupies the 11th place in the overall ranking with a score of 140 points.
The Huawei P60 Pro certainly comes with improvements. It is therefore possible that it will also be better than the Samsung smartphone in terms of camera.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra is equipped with a 5,000-mAh Li-Ion battery. It supports a 45W wired charging capable of providing 65% charge in just 30 min. It also supports 15W wireless charging as well as 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
Huawei’s device comes with a 4,815-mAh Li-Po battery. It supports 88W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra was made official on February 1, 2023. It is already available in France and here are the official prices on the official website of the manufacturer:
The Huawei P60 Pro was made official in China on March 23, 2023. Its price is set at 6,988 yuan (or €940 excluding VAT) for the 8GB / 256GB model and 7,988 yuan (or €1,075 excluding VAT) for the 12GB / 512GB model. The Huawei P60 Pro will be launched in France and Europe on May 9, 2023.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra has the best display, the best performance, and the most powerful battery. For its part, the Huawei P60 could do better than the S23 Ultra in terms of camera.
