The Galaxy A04s and A04 are two Samsung entry-level phones that are very similar in terms of design, display, performance and even battery life. However what makes these two phones different? Which one is better? Or which one should you buy? This comparison guide will give you some answers.

Both Samsung smartphones are available in four different colors: black, white, green and copper color. They both feature a glass front panel, plastic frame and back.
The Galaxy A04s measures 164.7 x 76.7 x 9.1 mm and weighs 195 g, while the Galaxy A04 measures 164.4 x 76.3 x 9.1 mm and weighs 192 g. So the two Samsung devices have almost the same dimensions and slightly different weights.
The two Samsung phones share a similar design. The considerable difference is in the number of photo sensors on the rear panel (3 sensors for the A04s and only 2 sensors for the A04). Moreover, only the A04s has a side fingerprint reader (integrated directly on the power button).
Both phones have an Infinity-V type PLS LCD display with a size of 6.5 inches with the same HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels at 270 dpi.
However, the Galaxy A04s screen will be smoother as it has the advantage of a dynamic refresh rate of 90 Hz. So the Galaxy A04s offers the best display.
Is the Galaxy A04s more efficient than the Galaxy A04?
The A04S is powered by a Soc Exynos 850 Octa-core (8 x 2 GHz) accompanied by a Mali-G52. As for the Galaxy A04 processor, Samsung only reveals that the device has an Octa-Core CPU (4×2.3 GHz & 4×1.8 GHz)
So if we look at the characteristics of the two chipsets, in multicore, the SoC of the Galaxy A04 would be faster than the Exynos 850.
Depending on the region, the Galaxy A04 comes with 3 or 4 GB of RAM for 32 GB, 64 GB or 128 GB of storage. The Galaxy A04s on the other hand comes in a single configuration of 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
Both smartphones have a MicroSD card slot (up to 1TB) and feature Android 12 with One UI Core 4.1 interface. They both support 4G and their connectivity options are similar.
The Galaxy A04 is therefore the better performing phone. Because it has the largest RAM, the largest storage space and has a chipset that would be more powerful than the Galaxy A04s.
The front panel of the Galaxy A04 and A04s houses a 5MP front camera (with f/2.2 aperture). The back of both phones has a 50 MP main camera (f/1.8 aperture), a flash and a 2MP depth sensor (f2.4 aperture).
However, the Galaxy A04s has another 2MP macro sensor (f/2.8 aperture). So it could do better than the Galaxy A04 in terms of photo and video recording.
In terms of battery, both devices are equal. They both have a non-removable 5,000 mAh battery capable of providing up to two days of autonomy.
Regarding the autonomy of the Galaxy A04s, Samsung gave more details on its official website. The battery of the A04s offers a battery life of 21h in internet use (4G or Wifi), 22h in video playback, 54h in communication (4G LTE) and up to 90h in audio playback.
