Xiaomi’s engineers have pushed the boundaries of design with the Mix Fold 3. They’ve created a new vertically stacked motherboard, which has reduced the overall size of the phone. What’s more, the Mix Fold 3’s proprietary hinge is made up of 198 components and takes up 17% less internal space than its predecessor. This hinge has 3 retractable elements and 14 micro hinges, offering improved durability. What’s more, the carbon-ceramic steel rotation mechanism ensures optimum stability.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 features two E6 OLED screens. The 8.03-inch LTPO main panel offers a resolution of 1,960 x 2,160 pixels and a variable refresh rate of 120 Hz for a smooth, immersive viewing experience. The panel is protected by Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) and supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, delivering vivid colours and high contrast.
What’s more, the 6.56-inch outdoor LTPO OLED screen is coated with Gorilla Glass Victus 2, offering extra protection against scratches and bumps. With a maximum brightness of 2,560 nits in automatic mode, you’ll be able to enjoy clear visibility, even in direct sunlight.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is equipped with a four-camera system in collaboration with Leica. The 50MP (23mm equivalent) Sony IMX800 main camera with OIS lets you capture crisp, detailed photos even in low-light conditions. The 12MP (15mm equivalent) ultra-wide module gives you a wider perspective for your photos.
The phone is also equipped with a 10 MP (75 mm equivalent) telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, ideal for capturing details from a distance. In addition, the 10 MP (115 mm equivalent) periscope module offers up to 5x optical zoom, allowing you to get even closer to your subject without losing image quality.
The Mix Fold 3 is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which comes with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 gives you a larger 4,800mAh battery but retains the same 67W wired charging as its Mix Fold 2 predecessor, that said the device has an additional 50W wireless charging. Moving on to the software, the foldable runs MIUI 14 with Android 13 underneath as you’d expect.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is available in two rear versions: one in glass and the other in composite fibre. However, the price remains the same whichever version you fancy. Pre-orders are already open in China, while official sales are due to begin on 16 August. Unfortunately, Xiaomi has made no mention of availability details for international markets.
