Samsung unveils One UI 8: What’s new and compatible devices
Samsung has just launched the beta program for One UI 8, its all-new user interface based on Android 16. This major update ushers in a new era for Galaxy devices, focusing on artificial intelligence, multitasking optimization and an ultra-personalized user experience.
One UI 8’s new flagship features
Integrated multimodal AI
One UI 8 introduces multimodal AI capable of understanding the user’s visual and auditory context, delivering more natural and fluid interactions. This proactive AI offers personalized suggestions based on the user’s habits and preferences, significantly improving productivity and ergonomics.
Personalized user experience
- Now Bar: An intelligent panel integrated into the home screen, displaying real-time information personalized according to usage contexts (schedule, location, behavior).
- Now Brief: A voice assistant that provides a personalized daily summary including reminders, appointments, weather info and news. A hands-free approach useful when waking up or on the move.
Optimized user experience
- A new adaptive multitasking system lets you detach one application partially off-screen while interacting with another – a boon for users of large screens or foldable devices.
- Animations and transitions have been smoothed to enhance the feeling of responsiveness, even on the most demanding devices.

Improvements to Reminder and Quick Share
The Reminder function has been redesigned to better organize your tasks and events. You can now set conditional reminders based on time, location or even usage habits. This enables more contextual and proactive planning, ideal for busy diaries.
Samsung is also strengthening Quick Share, its wireless file-sharing solution. The version integrated into One UI 8 improves transfer speed, simplifies pairing between Galaxy devices, and extends compatibility to Windows PCs via SmartThings. A real step forward for those who frequently exchange files between their devices.
Enhanced security
Samsung reinforces confidentiality with Knox Vault, a secure environment isolating critical data from the rest of the device. Users can also choose to process data locally rather than via the cloud, a real plus for those concerned about their privacy.

Compatible devices
The beta program is currently available on the following models:
- Galaxy S25
- Galaxy S25+
- Galaxy S25 Ultra
Samsung has confirmed that other devices will gradually receive One UI 8.
