Get ready for another exciting reveal from Samsung! The tech giant is set to launch the long-awaited Galaxy M55, powered by Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. Details of this technological breakthrough have emerged thanks to a comparison on Geekbench, offering a tantalising glimpse of the SM-M556B’s specifications.

Geekbench revelation

The first indication of the Galaxy M55 has emerged on Geekbench, where the SM-M556B has been subjected to extensive testing. The smartphone is equipped with Qualcomm’s cutting-edge Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, offering peak performance. The tests also revealed 8GB of RAM and the Android 14 operating system, presumably with the One UI 6 user interface.

Processor performance

The test results on Geekbench, albeit on an older version 4.2, provide an insight into the processor’s raw performance. Scores of 3,575 single-core and 11,330 multi-core are impressive, although comparison with other smartphones is difficult due to the dated version of Geekbench used.

Comparison of the Galaxy M55 with its predecessor and competitors

The Galaxy M55 is the successor to the Galaxy M54, which featured the Exynos 1380. The transition to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 may not represent a radical improvement in performance, but it does promise to significantly optimise battery life. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is also present in Honor 90 and Xiaomi 13 Lite phones, providing an interesting comparison of processor performance.

While these Geekbench results offer a promising glimpse into the Galaxy M55’s capabilities, it’s crucial to stress that these synthetic benchmarks only paint part of the picture. Waiting for Samsung’s official launch is necessary for a full assessment of how the Galaxy M55 stacks up against its competitors.
