Samsung started in South Korea with the stable release of One UI 9.0. According to Netzwelt, citing a post by leaker Tarun Vats, the build numbers are A366NKSU9DZIF for the Galaxy A36 and A566SKSUADZJ1 for the Galaxy A56. The update also reaches phones that weren’t in the beta, a program that has now closed. For Germany, the site expected arrival about a week after Korea, which matches what GSMArena reports for Europe.

To check, open Settings, then Software update, then Download and install. If automatic updates are on, the phone will offer it by itself once it’s available in your country.

The features mentioned

One UI 9 brings five new features in total, three of which Netzwelt describes in detail.

  • Live Translate, which shows the translated audio of a call as on-screen text.
  • My FanCam, which keeps a chosen person in frame while you edit video.
  • Now Brief, a personalized summary of alerts such as weather and appointments.

Release notes relayed by Sammyfans also mention customization tools, better stability and faster app launches.

The Galaxy S26, S25, S24 and S23 series have already moved to One UI 9, as have the Galaxy A57 and A37. Among models eligible for Android 17, still waiting are the Galaxy A55, A54, A53, A35, A34, A33, A26, A25, A17, A16 and A15, plus the M53, M33 and several XCover models. Samsung has not confirmed a timetable for these in the sources we checked.

What it means for you

If you own a Galaxy A36, there’s nothing to do but wait or run a manual check. As with any major update, back up your data before installing and keep the phone plugged in during the download. Owners of other A-series models will have to wait for Samsung’s announcement.

The rollout of One UI 9 on the Galaxy A36 shows Samsung pushing Android 17 down to its mid-range quickly. Have you received it yet? Tell us in the comments which feature interests you most.
