Official high-resolution renders of the ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro revealed

Exclusive leaks and online rumours give us a fascinating insight into the next jewels in the gaming world. Via MySmartPrice, we’ve managed to get our hands on high-res renders of the eagerly-awaited ROG Phone 8 Pro from reliable sources, revealing stunning details about its design and specifications.

Design

The ROG Phone 8 Pro will sport an almost identical design to its standard counterpart, with a few subtle changes. Recently revealed renders reveal a square design with slightly rounded parts, a new camera bump housing three sensors at the back and coloured RGB lights. However, the Pro will have special LED dot lights, similar to those on ASUS’ high-end devices.

Unique features

Aside from these differences, the ROG Phone 8 Pro retains the elements for which the series is famous. A flat screen with a centrally aligned selfie camera, minimal bezels, a power button and volume rockers on the right side, and a USB Type C port positioned on the left side. The bottom of the device will house another USB Type C port, a SIM tray, a headphone jack and a speaker grille.

Expected specs

The ROG Phone 8 Pro is promised with some impressive specs, including a 6.78-inch Samsung FHD+ flexible AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz and HDR10 compatibility. Under the bonnet, it will be powered by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. Rear cameras, although exact details remain under wraps, are expected to include a 50MP main sensor using Sony IMX890 technology, a 13MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 32MP camera with 3X optical zoom. The selfie camera will be a powerful 32MP lens for high-quality selfies and live broadcasts.

Storage on the ROG Phone 8 Pro is through the roof with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of storage capacity thanks to UFS 4.0 technology. It will run Android 14 with the ROG UI for a personalised, optimised user experience.

Other notable features

The robust 5,500mAh battery, combined with 65W fast charging technology, promises extended battery life. The ROG Phone 8 series also boasts an IP68 rating, guaranteeing resistance to water and dust. In terms of connectivity, the ROG Phone 8 Pro will offer comprehensive options, including 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6/6E, NFC, and a USB Type-C port for charging.
