Motorola Razr 40 Ultra: new specifications revealed

Motorola’s upcoming foldable phone model, the Razr 40 Ultra, has been the subject of much speculation and rumors lately. Now, a leak regarding the spec sheet of this smartphone has been revealed, and it shows that the choice of chipset might not please everyone.

What are the specifications of the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra

According to a recent report, the Razr 40 Ultra will not feature the latest chipset: the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Instead, it will opt for its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. While this is still a great high-end chipset, Samsung’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will be used in the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip5, which is expected to be announced in July. This model could then offer some serious competition to the Razr 40 Ultra.

But this choice of chipset isn’t all the Razr 40 Ultra has up its sleeve. It will also feature a 120Hz (or 144Hz) 1080×2640 pixel AMOLED main touchscreen. While its outer display, probably 3.5 inches, will have a resolution of 1056×1066 pixels to cover its square face.

With up to 512GB of storage and up to 12GB of RAM, the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra will also offer a dual SIM variant, an eSIM variant as well as NFC on all models, and a fingerprint sensor will of course be present.

On the photography side, the smartphone will have two main cameras, with a resolution of 12 MP for the Sony IMX563 sensor and 13 MP for the SK Hynix Hi1336 sensor. The inner screen will be equipped with a 32 MP selfie module with the OmniVision OV32B40 sensor.

In short, the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra promises to be a high-end foldable smartphone. While some might be disappointed with the chipset choice, the other features and specifications should more than make up for that. Stay tuned for more information and the launch date of this long-awaited smartphone.
