Xiaomi is rolling out HyperOS 4, its Android 17-based skin, as a stable release in China starting October 15, 2026. Twelve devices go first, from the Xiaomi 17 to the Redmi K90, plus two tablets. The rollout will come in waves, and no stable date has been announced for international markets.

According to several specialist outlets, the first batch covers the following devices.

  • Xiaomi 17 Ultra, 17 Ultra Satellite Edition, 17 Pro Max, 17 Pro and 17
  • Xiaomi Mix Flip 2
  • Redmi K90 Pro Max, K90 Pro, K90 Pro Lamborghini Edition and K90
  • Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro and Pad 8

The rollout is staged: not every device will get the update on day one, and Xiaomi describes its timelines as approximate. Beta testers can receive it over the air under Settings, My Device, then System Version.

What HyperOS 4 changes

Xiaomi highlights a reworked interface with translucent elements, redesigned lock screens and an updated Control Center. The company also promises smoother performance, faster app launches, better memory management, an upgraded Super XiaoAi assistant, more HyperIsland features and improved connectivity. Some features may be limited to certain devices or regions. The sources we checked do not go into more detail on these changes.

What comes next: the following waves

According to Gizchina, a second wave is planned by October 31, including the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro, the Redmi K90 Max and K90 Ultra, and the Redmi Turbo 5 series. The full schedule runs through January 2027, with the oldest models last. Note that Gizchina’s first-wave list differs from the other sources (it mentions Redmi K100 models, likely an error), which is why we stick to the twelve devices confirmed across outlets.

October 15 applies to China only. Xiaomi has published no global stable schedule. A global beta is already running on the Xiaomi 17, 17 Ultra, 17T, 17T Pro, 15 and 15 Ultra. One outlet guesses global builds could land four to six weeks after China, but that is an estimate, not an announcement. The OS4.0.1.0 builds spotted in Xiaomi’s Mi Code tracker for other models only show that testing is under way.

Our advice: if your phone is your main device, back up your data before updating and wait a few days after the notification appears, because stable does not mean bug-free. Is your device on the HyperOS 4 list? Tell us in the comments.
