Discover Sony’s PlayStation Portal – The new way to play your PS5 games remotely

Sony recently unveiled its latest handheld device, Project Q, which promises to revolutionise the remote gaming experience. Called PlayStation Portal, the handheld works with PS Remote Play, allowing gamers to enjoy their PS5 games anywhere, as long as they have a Wi-Fi connection. With this new device, Sony is positioning itself as a leader in the field of remote gaming.

To use PlayStation Portal, you’ll need an Internet connection of at least 5 Mbps for a smooth gaming experience. However, Sony recommends a speed of 15 Mbps or more for optimal performance. It is important to note that only supported games installed on your PS5 console will be accessible via the portal. PlayStation Plus Premium cloud streaming will not be supported, and you will not be able to run other games or media locally.

The device features an 8-inch LCD screen with 1080p resolution and a 60 Hz refresh rate. So you can enjoy an immersive gaming experience with high-quality graphics. What’s more, the layout of the controllers is identical to that of the PS5 DualSense controller, ensuring familiarity and ease of use for gamers.

The PlayStation Portal also features a USB-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack and integrated speakers for a full audio experience. However, it’s important to note that the device only supports Wi-Fi and PlayStation Link, Sony’s proprietary wireless technology.

Sony has announced a price of $200/€220/£200 for the PlayStation Portal, making it an affordable device for gaming enthusiasts. The official launch and more details about the product will be announced soon by Sony.

With PlayStation Portal, Sony offers gamers an unprecedented remote gaming experience. Whether at home, with friends or on the move, PlayStation Portal allows you to stay connected to your favourite PS5 games. Stay tuned for further announcements from Sony regarding the official launch of this exciting product.
