DCS reveals Vivo X100S specifications well in advance of launch

Exciting developments are underway in the smartphone field, as Digital Chat Station, a reputable prognosticator, hints at Vivo’s upcoming releases for the Chinese market. The spotlight is on the Vivo X100S and Vivo X100S Pro, set to debut alongside the Vivo X100 Pro+ in Q2 2024. Digital Chat Station has generously shared a sneak peek at the specifications of the much-anticipated Vivo X100S, promising a departure from the norm with AMOLED flat screens.

A change of screen type

In a departure from the curved screens of the existing Vivo X100 and X100 Pro, the X100S series is set to introduce AMOLED flat screens, a design change that aims to redefine the user experience. Digital Chat Station’s insights suggest that these cutting-edge devices will mark a break with convention and bring a fresh perspective to the smartphone landscape.

Planned launch and product range

Anticipation is building for the grand unveiling of the X100S series, which is expected to share the stage with the Vivo X100 Pro+ in Q2 2024. The leaks also hint at a full product range, with Vivo potentially launching several devices alongside the X100 Pro+, including the much-anticipated Vivo Pad 3.

The Vivo X100S: a look at the specs

According to leaks provided by Digital Chat Station, the Vivo X100S is expected to feature a 6.78-inch flat 8T OLED display from BOE. This display offers 1.5K resolution and an impressive 120Hz refresh rate, with support for LTPO technology. The smartphone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset, the same engine used in the X100.

The X100S is expected to deliver robust performance with a 5,000 mAh battery, featuring 120 W of fast wired charging capability. Running on Origin OS 4 based on Android 14, tailored to the Chinese market, the X100S should offer a seamless, intuitive user experience. According to rumors, the rear camera configuration will include a 50 MP Sony IMX 920 main sensor with OIS, a 50 MP Samsung JN1 ultra-wide lens and a 64 MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. In keeping with selfie trends, the X100S will probably retain the 32 MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture.

The Chinese market is gearing up for the arrival of the Vivo X100S series. With a focus on flat AMOLED displays, powerful internal components and a versatile camera setup, these smartphones are poised to make a significant impact. Stay tuned for the official launch, as Vivo sets the stage for the next chapter of smartphone innovation.
