The Realme Buds Air 3 wireless earphones are even better than the excellent Realme Buds Air 2 released in 2021. They are easily familiar with Apple’s AirPods 3.

Realme is increasingly establishing itself in the consumer electronics market. Its phones are among the best, and its computers are charming and affordable. The Buds Air 2 headphones had good sound quality accompanied by decent active noise cancellation and above all a very low price.

With the Buds Air 3, noise cancellation is even better, while the $80 price tag has remained just as sweet compared to what the headphones offer.

Realme Buds Air 3: How beautiful and durable are they

The Buds Air 3 have a similar design to the Buds Air 2. That said, there are a few differences. The first is their shorter stems which allow the earphones to sit well in your ears.

You’ll also notice that the Realme logo is now in the middle of the charging case, towards the top of the lid and is behind a clear plastic window which gives a unique look.

$99.99

The Buds Air 3 is available in two colors: Galactic White and Stellar Blue. They are made entirely of plastic with shiny tips on the in-ear part and a matte finish. To our delight, the case of these headphones is small enough to fit in most trouser or jacket pockets.

You won’t be able to go in the pool or shower with these earphones on as they have a small IPX5 waterproof rating. They aren’t dustproof either.

Realme Buds Air 3: The best features

It is at this level that these headphones justify their price of 80€. They have a feature set found on $150 headphones. As an example, their noise cancellation technology is really good.

Each Buds Air 3 earbud has two microphones that can block noise up to 42 decibels. On this point, it is better than Xiaomi’s Buds 3T Pro. You have a transparent mode, of course, which allows a certain amount of outside noise to pass through so that you are aware of what is happening in your surroundings. Since noise cancellation consumes more battery, you can turn it off whenever you want.

Another feature you’ll love about these headphones is multipoint pairing with up to two devices. That is to say, you can connect to your Buds Air 3 from your smartphone and your computer. Or from your iPhone and your Android phone.

However, you cannot listen to music on both paired devices at the same time. You can still switch between devices in milliseconds.

Their wireless Realme Buds Air 3 earbuds equally offer a wireless charging system, a weak latency player and customized sound profiles.

Their Bluetooth 5.2 technology coupled with the SBC and AAC audio codecs allow a solid and stable connection to your smartphone.

With the right phone, you’ll also have access to Dolby Atmos quality with profiles for watching movies, listening to music, and gaming. These headphones even understand the sound environment of your room to tailor your sound.

How are the soft touch controls on these headphones

The touch controls work pretty well. You are experiencing latency in responses. When you press the listener, it takes a while for the command to be executed.

Using the Realme Link app, you can set up taps on your headphones. The available gestures are double and triple taps, as well as long taps.

The app works on Android and iOS devices.

Realme Link can also inform you about the battery level of your headphones and the case; activated noise cancellation mode, sound profiles, etc.

Realme Buds Air 3: Sound quality

Realme’s new headphones deliver loud and punchy sound using their 10mm dynamic drivers. The bass is good, but not overpowering. The Buds Air 3 have a sound quality that you find on much more expensive headphones.

In addition to the bass, you will appreciate the clear highs and mids which are subtly enhanced by the headphones.

Whether watching movies or sports, listening to music or making calls, the Realme Buds Air 3 do a good job.

Their audio adjustment feature using the Realme Link app is very helpful in getting the sound that suits your ears. But the biggest secret of these headphones is to push them well into your ears. If they hold up well, you’ll have incredible sound quality.

Realme Buds Air 3: Battery quality and charging power

The Buds Air 3 have a total autonomy of 30 hours with their case; when noise cancellation is off. If noise cancellation is activated, this autonomy drops to 22 hours.

When you remove the headphones from their case, you can use them for 5.5 hours before they completely discharge. These are the numbers from Realme. Each earbud packs a 43mAh battery while the case packs a 460mAh one.

Charge the headphones for ten minutes and you can use them for 100 minutes to track music. You can charge the Buds Air 3 case via the USB-C port or with a Qi charger. If you have a phone that offers reverse charging, that will do the trick as well.

Should you buy the Realme Buds Air 3

The Buds Air 2 was already of good quality; the Buds Air 3 are even better. You will really enjoy listening to music with it. They allow you to customize your sound, connect from multiple devices, and their active noise cancellation is incredibly good for the amount of money. However, we would have liked their autonomy to be better.

If you have 80€ to spend on headphones, one of the best choices is undoubtedly the Realme Buds Air 3.
