LibreOffice was born in 2010 as a split from OpenOffice.org. It is published by The Document Foundation, a non-profit, and stays completely free, including for business use.

What LibreOffice includes

Writer for word processing, Calc for spreadsheets, Impress for presentations, Draw for drawings, Base for databases and Math for formulas. Everything installs at once and shares the same interface.

Who is it for?

People who do not need a Microsoft 365 subscription: students, non-profits, small businesses, family computers. Word and Excel files open without trouble in the vast majority of cases.

Download LibreOffice safely

Go to libreoffice.org and pick the “stable” version if you want the most proven one. The suite is free: no licence key is needed.
