Elden Ring crashes, the biggest game of the beginning of this year gives headaches to PC gamers. But before you give up, you should try the solutions below; they might fix Elden Ring crash on your PC.

Video game developers always want to go all out to impress gamers. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. FromSoftware, the company that develops Elden Ring has received a lot of praise for the new version of the game. But today, it is mostly harshly criticized. It’s true that FromSoftware has been struggling with PC games for a long time, but this time, gamers are not taking it well. The performance problems caused by Elden Ring on PC are huge.

It doesn’t matter if you have a powerful GPU like the GeForce RTX 3090, Elden Ring will crash, as if the computer’s performance is insufficient. It seems that this bug is due to the addition of an anti-cheat program by FromSoftware in the game. The company has not confirmed this information.

How to fix the Elden Ring bug on PC

1. Increase your Shader Cache via in the Nvidia Control Panel

Of course this solution is for those who have an Nvidia GPU.

For the time being, gamers who use AMD have to wait for the search for solutions for their GPUs to be completed.

The others, who use Nvidia, open Nvidia control panel. You can do this using the shortcut on the desktop or by searching in the Windows search bar.

In the Nvidia Control Panel, go to 3D Settings, then to Manage 3D Settings by clicking on the link on the left of the main Control Panel window

Set the Shader Cache setting to Unlimited so that the frame rate can go beyond 60fps.

Once this is set, try playing again. If the stuttering continues, try the following solution.

2. Disable Microsoft Device Association Root Enumerator

Unlike the previous solution which was only for Nvidia card users; this one is for all gamers on Windows.

Right click on Start, then click on Device Manager

In the list that appears, look for “software devices” and click the arrowhead to pull down the list.

Right click on Microsoft Device Association Root Enumerator and click on “Disable Device”.

Don’t worry, this is a feature that is hardly useful these days, but it can cause bugs on newer hardware.

3. Set Elden Ring to “High Performance” mode in the graphics settings

This solution should work on Windows 11 and 10.

In the search bar, type “graphics” and choose “Graphics Settings” from the suggestions.

In the settings search bar, type “Elden Ring” and click on Options.

Select “High Performance” and click Save to exit.

If you’ve tried any of the above techniques and none of them worked, you’ll just have to wait for FromSoftware to come up with some official and definitive solutions.
