The Galaxy Xcover range brings together Samsung’s toughest phones. However, they are still generally less efficient than devices from other ranges of the brand. Availability and prices


The Galaxy Xcover 5 was officially released on March 12, 2021 at a price of around 260 euros. The launch date of the Xcover 6 Pro phone is not yet fixed, but it should be launched later this month, its price has not yet been announced. They both come in a single color – Black.

Both devices ha a PLS LCD screen but with height differences, the first has a height of about 5,3inches with 311 PPI densities with a 60 Hz refreshment rate. The second capitalizes on a 6,6 inches refreshing at a rate of  120 Hz and a density of  400 PPI. It is equally the best in terms of screen (77, 8 % against67, 7 %). In terms of resolution, it’s another big victory for Xcover 6 Pro screen.

The two mobiles are delivered with octa-core fleas, but really different platforms. We find the Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset of Qualcomm on the Galaxy Xcover 6 Pro and for the Xcover 5 it is an Exynos 850 Maison Maison less efficient. The graphics are Adreno 642L and Mali-G52 respectively for the 6 Pro and the Xcover 5.

The two phones are delivered in a single storage option each. It will be 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of memory for the Xcover 6 Pro and 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of memory for the Xcover 5. Dedicated locations are available on one as on the other to accommodate microSDXC cards. The Xcover 5 starts on one UI 4.1 based on Android 11 and can evolve towards Android 12. The Xcover 6 Pro will undoubtedly perform Android 12 with one UI 4.1 above.

In terms of photography, Samsung did not want to force himself in the design of the Galaxy Xcover 5; it comes with a single camera 16 Mp capacity on the back and a 5 MP front camera at the front above the screen. The Galaxy Xcover 6 Pro is a little revolutionizing all of this with a double-camera configuration on the back, the main camera is a 50 MP wide sensor accompanied with an ultra-large 8 MP module. On the front of the handset, a 13 MP selfie camera sheltered in a screen perforation.

Again Samsung opted for a good growth of the characteristics of the Xcover 6 Pro compared to the Xcover 5. While the Xcover had arrived with a 3000 mAh battery, the Xcover 6 Pro will arrive with a battery capacity of 4050 mAh compatible with A fast load 15 W as the Xcover 5 which uses the USB Type-C 2.0 against the USB Type-C 3.2.

The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 6 Pro marks a real turning point for the robust range of the company. In every way it is superior to the Galaxy Xcover 5. The choice is therefore obvious if you are looking for a robust phone.
