The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus runs on MIUI 13, based on Android 12, also offering a smooth user experience with plenty of customisation options. It also offers 5G connectivity, facial recognition and various software features unique to the Xiaomi brand.

This means that both smartphones offer excellent battery life and the ability to charge quickly, although the Redmi will charge much faster than the Reno.

In terms of storage, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro comes in two options: 128GB and 256GB of internal storage, with no option to expand via a microSD card. The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus offers a single 256GB storage option, without the ability to expand storage via a microSD card.
