Performance duel

The Pixel 7 Pro’s cover houses a Google Tensor G2 processor assisted by a Titan M2 security chip. Google’s Pixel has 12GB of RAM coupled with 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. It runs on Android 13.

The Reno 8 Pro packs a MediaTek Dimensity 8100-MAX chipset assisted by a Mali-G610 MC6 GPU and a MariSilicon X NPU chip (for image processing). It has 8GB or 12GB of RAM coupled with 256GB of internal storage. It runs on an Android 12 system with ColorOS 12.1 interface

As we can see on Chipguider, the Dimensity 8100-MAX which has a GeekBench 5.2 score of 4,137 (multicore) is more powerful than the Tensor G2 which only comes with a multicore score of 3,194. The Reno 8 Pro therefore has the more powerful processor.

Moreover, both smartphones support 5G and are equivalent in terms of RAM. However, the Reno 8 Pro has the more powerful processor while the Pixel 7 Pro packs a newer version of Android. In terms of performance, the Reno 8 Pro would probably be the best.

On the back of the Pixel 7 Pro, there is a 50 MP main sensor (with Octa PD technology) accompanied by a 48 MP Quad Bayer Telephoto lens and a 12 MP Ultra Wide Angle sensor. On the Pixel 7 Pro, selfies are taken by a 10.8 MP front camera.

The Pixel 7 Pro is ranked 1st on DXOMARK with a score of 147. With these statistics, the Pixel 7 Pro offers a more powerful camera than most of these competitors. So it could shoot better than the Reno 8 Pro.

Battery and charging

The Google Pixel 7 Pro embeds a battery of 5 000 mAh. This one offers an autonomy of more than 24 hours and can reach 72 hours thanks to the ultra-saver.

Google’s phone supports fast wired charging of 30W (50% charge in 30 min), fast wireless charging and reverse charging.
