Honor, the smartphone brand, is holding an event in China to unveil its latest offerings, including the Magic OS 8.0 operating system and the highly anticipated Honor Magic 6 series of smartphones. Leaks give us a glimpse of the design of these new smartphones, which sport a sleek design with a three-camera setup arranged in a triangle. What’s more, tests suggest that the Honor Magic 6 Pro could outperform its rival on some key aspects of satellite communication.
Stylish design:
Renderings shared by @Rodent950 reveal a sleek design for both the Honor Magic 6 and 6 Pro. Both phones feature three cameras arranged in a triangle at the back. One of these cameras appears to be a telephoto periscope lens, as the camera module is marked 100x. This design promises advanced photography capabilities and an immersive visual experience for users.
An advance in satellite communication:
Tests by a Weibo tech analyst compared the Honor Magic 6 Pro’s satellite communication feature to that of the Huawei Mate 60 Pro. Preliminary results suggest that the Magic 6 Pro offers a much faster satellite connection than its rival, eliminating the need for separate direction measurements before establishing communication. In addition, the Honor phone allows longer calls, even exceeding 5 minutes, unlike the Huawei device which forces disconnection. This superior performance positions Honor as a serious contender in the emerging field of satellite communication.
Advanced camera configuration:
According to recent leaks, the Honor Magic 6 series will feature a rear camera configuration comprising a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor. This configuration promises exceptional photographic capabilities, allowing users to capture sharp details and high-quality images, whatever the type of shot.
