Backbone One – PlayStation Edition design for Android

The Android version of the Backbone One – PlayStation Edition has the same classic white and black design as the iPhone version, and features face buttons that match the layout of the DualSense controller for the PS5, although the joystick layout is different, the materials and finishes remain similar. Users can also take advantage of a headphone jack to connect wired headphones, and the controller runs on the phone’s battery but also has a USB relay to charge it when connected.

The controller can be used for native Android and iOS games, as well as playing PlayStation 4 and 5 games via Remote Play, while offering additional benefits such as a one month Google Play Pass for Android or a one month Apple Arcade for iPhone, as well as 3 months of Discord Nitro.

The Backbone team worked closely with the PlayStation team to ensure that the look of the Backbone One – PlayStation Edition for Android matched the colours, materials and finishes of the DualSense wireless controller. The clear face buttons add an extra touch to enhance the gaming experience and match the look of the PS5 console. In addition, users can connect their Pulse 3D wireless headset directly to their Backbone One via the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The latest update to the PS Remote Play app on Google Play offers easy setup and play with the Backbone One for Android, meaning users can easily immerse themselves in their favourite games on their smartphone with an authentic control experience. Gamers can also double-tap the Backbone One – PlayStation Edition’s Options button for easy access to the PlayStation app. In addition, the latest update to the app will also support controller-based navigation in landscape orientation to optimise the user experience.

With a broadband internet connection and a PS5 or PS4 console, you can plug your iPhone or Android device into the Backbone One and instantly start playing your PS5 and PS4 games with the power of the PS Remote Play app – whether you’re on the move or even elsewhere in the house.
