As we said above every app has its share of issues, and iCloud Drive is no exception, so if your online backup app refuses to load when you need to access your content or add content, try the few tips and tricks we have below.
Restart your device
A simple reboot can solve several minor issues experienced on a device. If your iCloud is stuck loading, try restarting your device, this could be all you have to do to restart iCloud loading.
Make sure you’re connected to the internet
No internet connection on your device is a logical cause of your iCloud not loading. It also won’t load if you haven’t granted it access to cellular data.
So, if you encounter an iCloud loading error, make sure you are connected to the Internet and that iCloud is allowed to access your connection. To allow iCloud to access cellular data, do the following:
- Go to Settings>
- Go to Cellular or Mobile Data,
- Then scroll down to check if iCloud is allowed access.
- If not, turn it on.
Check Apple’s system status
If iCloud still doesn’t load after restarting the device, it could be a system or server issue on Apple’s end. So go to their status page and confirm if everything is okay.
On the status page, if you’re on mobile, click the + sign to expand the list of Apple services. If you see “Available” next to iCloud Drive, it’s working fine and is not the cause of your problem. However, if there is a problem, it will be displayed with some information on what to do.
Turning iCloud Drive off and on
Some users revealed that all they had done to resolve the iCloud loading error was to simply turn off their iCloud Drive and turn it back on. To do this,
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on your name.
- Select iCloud.
- Then turn off the iCloud Drive toggle.
- Restart your device and re-enable iCloud Drive by following the same procedure and enabling the toggle
Update your operating system
Failure to update a device can cause it to malfunction, which could be the cause of iCloud not loading. If you are using an outdated version of the operating system on your Apple device, you should update it as soon as possible, as Apple may have already fixed this bug in its latest version. To update your device, perform the commands below:
- Go to Settings
- General
- Software Update
- Check for an update, and then install it if there is one.
If, despite all the solutions below, your iCloud Drive still does not load, contact Apple’s support team
