Why does Call of Duty: Warzone crash on PS5?

Many players report that while playing Call of Duty: Warzone, their console suddenly stopped working; the game froze.

So far, only the PS5 version of Call of Duty: Warzone seems to have this particular problem. But it’s enough for Sony to take the matter seriously.

Imagine the frustration of a player in the middle of an action who suddenly sees his game freeze without any apparent explanation.

What’s worse is that up until the time of writing this article, there’s no clear cause. Raven Software, the company behind Call of Duty: Warzone is well aware of this bug and will certainly come up with a coherent solution soon.

In fact, Raven stated on Twitter that a mid-season patch is coming very soon. The developers of the game promise that this will significantly reduce problems such as crashes. They will also take the opportunity to fix all the other issues that players are experiencing on PS5 and Xbox.

According to this Tweet, some fixes have arrived since January 11. So update your console now to get the latest features.

What can you do to enjoy the best Call of Duty: Warzone gaming experience without your console crashing?

If Raven Software’s patch didn’t provide you with a solution, there are some preventive measures you can take to prevent your console from experiencing problems with the game. Raven is “graciously” offering these tips

According to Raven, it seems that higher frame rates are one of the main culprits of the problem. So, to fix it, you’ll need to disable the 120Hz mode in the menus. You’ll still be able to play, but the game will drop from 120 frames per second to only 60. This is without question a very disturbing compromise, especially for those who like to play with the best possible experience. But for now, you’ll have to deal with it, because the alternative is the game crashing.

Finally, Call of Duty: Warzone also has an option called texture streaming. It allows the game to download high quality textures during the game to greatly improve its appearance. According to Raven, this feature could also be the cause of the crash. Therefore, the company advises to disable this feature as well.

Until Raven Software comes up with final and reliable fixes for these issues, we’ll have to make do with these intermediate solutions to solve the problem of Call of Duty: Warzone crashing on PS5 and even on other platforms.
