The iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable iPhone, goes on sale October 23, but getting one is already an ordeal: an order placed today for the 256 GB model shows delivery in late January 2027 in the United States. Starting price, a battery capacity at last, a two-per-customer cap: here is what matters.

Unveiled September 9, 2026 alongside the iPhone 18 Pro, the device opened pre-orders on October 16. Retail launch is set for October 23 in more than 70 countries and regions, including the US and UK. Another 28 markets follow on October 30.

Demand is far ahead of supply. As of October 19, Apple quoted January 22, 2027 for the 256 GB model in the US and January 25 in the UK, according to Macworld. MacRumors reports that Apple Store staff were told to expect little or no stock for customers without an order on launch day.

Apple has begun pulling in some delivery dates, in places by weeks, in the US and Japan. It also caps purchases at two iPhone Duo per customer on its US site, although Reddit accounts disagree on whether the limit was there when pre-orders opened. In Japan and South Korea, in-store pickup will be by reservation only, the iPhone 18 Pro Max included.

iPhone Duo pricing

In the US, and in pounds in the UK, the prices are:

  • 256 GB: $1,999
  • 512 GB: $2,199
  • 1 TB: $2,599
  • 2 TB: $3,199

For scale, the iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 and the iPhone 18 Pro Max at $1,299. We do not yet have a confirmed euro price. On the accessory side, the Duo case is $79 and the Folio with kickstand $129. The iPhone Duo comes in Star White and Night Sky.

A 4,883 mAh battery, finally revealed

Apple does not list capacity in its spec sheets, but the European energy label gives it away: 4,883 mAh in total. That matches an earlier leak describing two cells of 2,962 mAh and 1,921 mAh, one in each half of the phone. Because the Duo is eSIM-only, the figure should hold worldwide.

For comparison, iFixit measured 4,288 mAh in the eSIM-only iPhone 18 Pro and 5,567 mAh in the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Apple promises up to 24 hours of typical use, and up to 44 hours of video playback on the outer display against 31 hours on the inner one.

Should you order now?

It depends on your patience. If you want one before the holidays, the current queue shuts the door, unless dates keep moving up. If the price does not stop you, order early: delivery slots are still shifting. And if you are on the fence, the iPhone 18 Pro starts $800 below the 256 GB Duo.
