Nothing Phone 1: Reported problems and their solutions

The Nothing Phone 1 is the star phone of the moment. But before you buy it, you should know that it has some bugs. Nothing serious apparently, but you never know.

As soon as they landed in the hands of Nothing’s lucky customers, the Phones 1 revealed some of their worst flaws and problems. Here they are below.

All new products have hardware problems. But the Nothing Phone 1 has some flaws that are difficult to overcome.

Faulty pixels around the camera of the Nothing Phone 1

Some Nothing Phone 1 units have dead pixels near the front camera. If yours has this problem, you should see green bleeding pixels around the area. This is one of the most reported issues on this phone.

Phone (1) : Green tint problem on the screen

This time it’s a major display issue. People are complaining about a slight green tint around the bottom of the phone’s display. The tint appears even more clearly when the dark mode is activated and is therefore more visible in the dark areas of the screen. This is quite annoying.

The solution comes from the Nothing company itself.

Solution 1: Update your Nothing Phone 1

This is also how Google had solved this problem on its Pixels 6 and 6 Pro. But remember that it didn’t work for all Nothing Phone 1 users.

To update, go to Settings -> System -> System Updates to check if a new update is available.

Solution 2: Factory reset the device

Factory reset of device solves almost all software related problems. But it also deletes all your data. Many Nothing Phone 1 users have been able to fix screen or camera related issues by performing a factory reset.

To do this, open the Settings app, look for the reset option and perform the factory reset.

Moisture under the rear camera module

Despite its IP53 rating, some people report problems with moisture under the glass cover of the rear camera module. This issue cannot be resolved with software solutions. Return the phone to Nothing for a replacement.

Bluetooth connectivity problem

A user on Reddit reported that he was unable to connect to his Bluetooth headset. After restarting his Phone 1, the problem persisted. But it might work for you. If it doesn’t, reset your phone to its factory settings. If nothing changes, wait, a future Nothing update should fix the problem once and for all.

My Nothing Phone 1 freezes after unlocking

Some users claim on Reddit that their Phone 1 freezes slightly after unlocking.  Try restarting the phone, or else locking and then unlocking it to see the problem is resolved. If nothing changes, reset the phone to its factory settings.
