Xiaomi just had its big announcement event in Barcelona where the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro were launched internationally. We also saw the Watch S1 Pro wearable and the Buds 4 Pro TWS headphones on stage. After more than 6 months of its launch in China, the Buds 4 Pro are now coming to the West.

Design and design of the Buds 4 Pro

The Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro have been completely redesigned and have nothing in common with the previous series. The stem and bud have an aesthetic curve and one part is glossy while the other is matte, completing the premium design. Likewise, the top side of the case is reflective, while the bottom side is annoyingly black. The most impressive part is how the buds sit in the case.

Xiaomi ships audio wearables with two more pairs of rubber tips, but our initial testing shows the medium option is good enough. We also have a white cable which doesn’t quite match the aesthetic vibe, but thankfully the Buds 4 Pro case supports wireless charging, meaning they can get juice on a whim.

Xiaomi Wireless Buds 4 Pro Specifications

As a reminder, the Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro succeed the Buds 3T Pro as the top-of-the-range wireless headphones in the manufacturer’s range. Basic specs include 11mm dynamic drivers, ANC connectivity and Bluetooth 5.3. Wireless supports SBC/AAC/LHDC 4.0 codecs and 96kHz HD audio output.

There are three microphones on each earbud, including a bone voiceprint sensor for optimal voice pickup. The headphones also support two-device pairing and come with pressure-sensitive buds that allow the user to control music playback and other functions.

Battery life is rated at 9 hours with ANC off and 38 hours with the charging case. The case and headphones are IP54 water and dust resistant.
