Messaging services have evolved considerably over the years, and WhatsApp is no exception. This week, WhatsApp announced the launch of a new feature: video messages. This new feature allows users to send short video recordings to communicate with their friends.

Audio messages have already revolutionized the way we communicate on messaging services. WhatsApp has therefore decided to take these voice messages as a basis for developing instant video messages. According to WhatsApp’s announcement, this feature is available to selected users and will be rolled out to all users in the coming weeks.

To use WhatsApp video messaging, just quickly press the audio messages button. This will switch to video messages and bring up the camera icon for video messages. Hold your finger on this button to start recording the video message. The interface is similar to that of audio messages, but you also have the option of swiping up to lock the recording and record a video hands-free.

WhatsApp video messages are presented in a circular format, which distinguishes them from square, vertical or horizontal videos. The maximum length of a video message is 60 seconds, and they will play automatically without sound. To listen to the audio, simply press the play button.

WhatsApp continues to innovate in order to offer its users new communication features. Video messages are a simple and practical way of sharing moments with your friends. Stay tuned for future WhatsApp updates to take advantage of this incredible feature. That said, will this latest feature be better than its counterpart on Telegram, which has been around for quite some time now?
